An Oaks Christian source who correctly predicted safety Marshall Jones would commit to USC said the senior is now expressing doubts about his early commitment and wondering if he should consider other schools.

Sounds like Marshall Jones is scared of competition.
Starters are young (Ellison and Pinkard).
Backups are freshman studs (Perez, Mays, Rowe, Green? Bradford?)
Looks like too many people ahead of him on the depth chart, eh???
Great work Mr. Wolf!

You, sir, are a glutton for punishment. This is not going to go over well with the folks who just want you to pump sunshine all day.

Great scoop CL....do you think competing with Spiller for playing time has him wavering?
Leave doom and gloom for Siemers and LAT.

It would be great to have this guy. But it does sound like he's scared of the competition.
If that's the kind of player he is, then it's best he moves on. SC can get another 5-star guy at DB.

Lets just say if someone doesn't want to play for SC then so be it, I'd rather find someone who does. That person will be the best that he can be if he wants to be there, those that don't will never put their heart into it. Better to find out now than waste a scholarship on someone who doesn't want to be at sc

Sounds pretty much par for the course for a high school student who has a ton of options. It is self serving to think that the reason he may be wavering is that there are other talented players on the Trojan roster. He is just second guessing himself.

I hope this kid doesn't read this blog. I have read nothing but great things about him. And I wish him the best of luck if he is in cardinal and gold...or in any other uniform! One kid defecting...or two if the back from Arkansas bails...is not going to prohibit us from having an icredible recruiting class again this year. Fight On!

About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
