With the best leg on the team, kickoff specialist David Buehler seems a natural for long field goals this season. But during Wednesday's scrimmage, Buehler hooked a 32-yard attempt wide left. It will be interesting to see if the Trojans try any field goals more than 45 yards this season.
As an equal-opportunity offender, I have a question: Here we are in L.A., the capitol of Mexico, and we can't find a soccer player that can kick a football 45-55 yards? Where is Nacho Libre when we need him. We luv Ferris, but right now there are no days off.
I don't care if we have to fly to Brazil or Spain or Idaho, we have to find a great kicker. It's the difference in a possible last second comeback and/or overtime win, is it not? Hmmm?

Naahhh.
My good old 'SC Dad reminded me; "You moron, have you ever seen a soccer player catch and throw a ball? What if you need to run a fake or avoid a rush, stupid".
He reminded me of the disaster that happened with the Miami Dolphins of the 70's. Many have seen the hilarious film of some guy named Yaprenian(?), a tiny elf that wore a one-banded helmet that looked like he was a telephone operator. He fumbled a snap under a heavy rush, then tried to throw the ball ala Martha Stewart. It didn't even go a yard, need I say more?
I'd rather go with Ferris. Please feed him more red meat.
