With freshman wide receiver Jamere Holland out for the season with a shoulder injury, it's the first major injury of fall camp. But it's also the position USC can afford to lose a player. Freshmen Travon Patterson and Vidal Hazelton are already impressive (Hazelton is expected to be certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse any day) in one day of practice and there's also tall freshman David Ausberry.
One of the more interesting sights Thursday was sophomore Patrick Turner trying to return punts.
``I think they will use someone smaller there,'' Turner said, referring to Patterson.
