A Little More Carroll
Here's some Sunday night comments from USC coach Pete Carroll:
On the offensive line: ``It wasn’t as smooth as we had been. We didn’t get some the same type of momentum. Ryan Kalil was feeling terrible during the game. That had something to do with it
On the fullback position: ``Stanley Havili’s got to step up. We’ll take a look at a couple other options. We'll meet tonight and talk about it.’’
On why Allen Bradford did not play: ``We just didn’t get a chance to get to him. We only had 11 carries in the first half.’’
On tailback Emmanuel Moody: ``Emmanuel warrants more turns based on how he played.’’
On the latest Reggie Bush allegations: ``We’re dealing with this just as we know how to do it. If there is something we need to contribute to the efforts to help, we will.’’

Is it just me, but does it seem like Lane Kiffin is way too pass happy. I feel like Kiff is trying to promote the passing game so he can get DJ or JDB a Heisman. I understand that the running game may not have been able to pick up steam because of the defense, but it just felt like the offense didn't even want to bother establishing a run.
I thought Moody showed some flashes of real talent every time he touched the ball. I believe that he and Washington should be the starters based on their play so far. Although he has a long way to go, Moody's style is similar to Reggie Bush, whereas Washington's style is similar to Lendale White's. In fact, Washington was rated a better back coming out of high school than White, and he has also shown flashes of brilliance.
Don't forget that the O-lines play was not that great against Nebraska, and yet Moody and Washington didn't do too bad, especially Moody.
