Attendance Lows
USC is currently on a 27-game winning streak at the Coliseum. It might be hard to believe but the Trojans drew just 43,508 for that first game of the steak against Arizona State in 2001. Since then, these are the yearly home attendance lows:
2002, 52,961 vs. Washington
2003, 68,341 vs. Stanford
2004, 72,855 vs. Washington
2005, 90,221 vs. Arizona

behold, the bandwagon
Attendance will rise when Cedric Everson signs with USC. The best Cb in America!
Bunch of pathetic bandwagoners
I'll bet anyone $5 that Scott Wolf is a regular Air America listener.
New winning streak starts next week
When I was a student, I was happy for a 50K crowd - 35K figures weren't out of the norm. Ahhhh, the early 90's - great time to be an SC football fan - never any problems getting tickets!!
All teams have bandwagon fans. It's just more noticeable in LA because there's too much stuff going on in this city for most people to follow/put up with losers. ]
If there was anything but football to do in Nebraska, Alabama or South Bend it would be the same there as well.
I'm just enjoying this ride cause when I was at USC it seemed like we lost every week. Damn you Hac****!! (He who shall not be named.)
Alas i agree that the Bandwagon is alive and kicking in LA.........I was there with the Trojans during the Gawd-awful days of Tollner. Smith and Hackett........30G crowds were regular sights and boos were a plenty too, but the true Trojans that were there through rain and shine (and we had some whopper rains too ) stuck with our beloved Trojans. My son and I sat through many embarrasing losses and near losses but we never lost our spirit for Troy.we knew it was just a matter of time before they would rein again on the gridiron. Now we see the masses and wonder "where were you when the boys needed you?"
Fight On to all the true Trojans of the 80s and 90s.............
What is this poster talking about with 35K figures weren't out of the norm in the early 90's? Maybe for an AWAY game against WSU or OSU. I can understand the reshaping of history given this was the period of USC darkest hours... but, even in Smith's last season, 1992 (remember the Fresno State loss year) we drew a low crowd of 46,343 with a home average of 59,754. The lowest home game attendance from 1990-2005 was 40,565 in 2000 under Paul Hackett.
Sure some are definately bandwagon fans joining, but don't forget that some fans are coming back after being disenfranchised by Tollner, Smith, and Hackett.
it would be great if everson signs with SC...but shut up already! you dont need to post it in every single thread...are you his dad or something?
The real point to be made is that only now, after 80-odd years of playing football at the highest level, at the Coliseum, is USC selling out on a regular basis at home. Last year the Trojans had four sellouts, and two near sellouts. The four home sellouts were a record for USC. This year, according to the USC ticket office, no tickets are left for any home games.
Consider this contrast. In 1963, the Trojans were defending national champions, coming off an undefeated season. Their home opener was against Oklahoma: the No. 1 Trojans against the No. 3 Sooners. The attendance: 39,345.
It will be interesting to see if the sellouts continue, even when the roller coaster takes a downturn (how long can we keep Pete?) But, for the time being, USC Football is being supported as never before. Pete Carroll will be playing at home this year before a Coliseum in which every available seat has been sold--an accomplishment unmatched by Gloomy Gus Henderson, Howard Jones, John McKay, John Robinson, or any other USC head coach.
