Quarterback John David Booty admitted Thursday even he was concerned how his back would hold up in the first game, following off-season surgery.
`My back feels great. I had a couple bruises but my back was no part of it,’’ he said. ``I even wanted to know. I haven’t been hit before. I took a couple shots and my body can take it.’’
Lets hope JD doesn't really get hit by a cheap shot artist. You have some PAC 10 teams who wouldnt mind taking JD out with an intentional hit to his back.
Did anybody notice last year in the Arizona State game #44 for Arizona State took 3 cheap shots in a row. He face masked Desmond Reed on a sweep, didn't get caught. He pulled Reggie Bush's Helmet off of his head and then when Matt Leinart ran out of bounds he hit Reggie in the back with a forearm knocking him down in front of the USC bench no penalties were called on any of these plays.
You mean like when ASU creamed Leinert way after the throw and Koetter "apologized" after the game to a still groggy Matt Leinert who said, "Yeah, my head's still all messed up." Those kind of cheap shot coaches, er, I mean artists.
