Blind Item Of The Day
I checked in with a recently departed USC assistant coach working east of the Mississippi who spoke to some Nebraska assistants about the game.
``They're fired up,'' he said. ``They think they can beat them. I think they can too.''

It's brilliant comments like that are the reason that Jethro is a soon-to-be-fired line coach for a team that gave up 27 points to the offensive juggernaut known as the Baltimore Ravens.
Who forgot to notify Vegas? "I think so too!!" oh boy... we're all shaking out here. Go talk to the 2003 Iowa coaching staff about their Orange Bowl predictions and the stupidity of making them.
A team that thinks it can win - wow, there's a huge news story.
Let me guess, Wolfie, they need to take it one play at a time, right? 'SC puts their pants on one leg at a time... On any given Saturday...
Could have been from the O in Mississippi, which is approximately the number of wins he has had since joining the Rebels.
believe scott if you guys really want to. why not say the name of the coach, its not like the coach is planning on comming back
I would be a bit disapointed if it was Coach O.
i can't stand Ed Oreogon. u know when he left USC after the '04 season, he asked some coaches to follow him and leave Pete Carroll. ever since then i don't like him. how you gonna do that against Pete. whatever he's whack
Doubt if it were Orgeron. I mean, he left on good terms to become a head coach elsewhere, and USC was pretty good to him. Note that he was still out there recruiting after Hackett was fired but before Carroll was named. USC has been very good to Coach O, and he doesn't seem to me to be the "disloyal" type.
Franklin, remember, has worked with Callahan in the past and did not leave under the best circumstances -- he coached a D-Line that was barely average as a unit despite that fact that everyone on that line has or will be drafted by an NFL team (Frostee and Ramsey last year, LoJack this year, Sed next year). And who can forget the timeout he wasted in the Rose Bowl. Despite the public kissy face, I can't believe he left on good terms.
I think it is Tim Davis. Tim Davis coached at Wisconsin with Callahan. Coach O wouldn't do that.
I don't think this was Coach O. But whatever.
Let's see if these guys are right. All they are doing is adding fuel to the fire.
IN PETE WE TRUST!!!
I think it was that bastard Jose Mourinho.
I'm more interested in how the USC coaches feel about going without Ellis and with a true freshman at safety?
I spoke to a guy in Nebraska who's affiliated with the program there and he told me that they all slept at a Holday Inn last night.
That would be Holiday Inn Express...
Yes, it's true.
I know for a fact that Callahan has a phone. He also calls people with it and discusses his next game. People he talks to also thinks Nebraska can win. And Scott Wolf is a dork.
Mr. Wolf, Why do you stir the pot like this?
Scott if you were any type of REAL MAN.... you'd tell us who the hell the RAT is!!!!!!!!
If Nebraska didn't think they could win why would they bother showing up? Thanks for warning me about the tailgate spot. I'll stay clear. As long as the Red Horde stays off our campus, they can suck corn licker and whittle corn cobs all day. Who cares?
My bet is that it is Tim Davis. Ogeron and Pete still talk all the time. Tim was a Chow guy.
I don't really care about it and hope that Pete is fully prepared for Nebraska.
What a scoop...an opposing team thinks they can win! Scott - you're skills as an investigative reporter are nothing short of outstanding.
