Coach Vs. Agent
Pete Carroll bumped into agent Leigh Steinberg on Wednesday night, because Steinberg was invited to speak on campus. Steinberg pointed out to Carroll that the last time he was in Heritage Hall, the USC coach directed profanity at a group of agents he wanted to speak with, including Steinberg.
Carroll talked to Steinberg about his current pet project, figuring out how to ban agents from talking to college athletes.
I am NOT a profanity fan. By the same token PC's job is to protect his players which is part of his leadership and integrity. Does anybody dare to question that? PC can say whatever he wants in his house(HH, USC campus), hopefully he'll refrain from profanity. Had Darnell Bing waited another year he would have gone much higher in the draft. The same can be said of Fred Matua(practice squad).
I got the feeling PC will reach a mighty serious compromise regarding any agent on a college campus.
