Could Hancock Return?
Could USC fullback Brandon Hancock return for a bowl game?
It’s a thought being considered because the senior is making a fast recovery after tearing knee ligaments last month.
``I’d like to suit up, run a play and maybe catch a ball,’’ Hancock said. ``If the trainers feel I can, it might be cool.’’ Hancock said he rides an exercise bike 20 miles a day and suffers no pain or atrophy in his knee since the operation.
``It’s been a freakish recovery,’’ he said.
USC coach Pete Carroll said he’s discussed the possibility of a return with Hancock.
``I think it might be too farfetched but his will wants him to come back,’’ Carroll said.

Holy crap that is ridiculous. It'd be great - but still ridiculous.
Hancock is an injury waiting to happen...again!
He has been injured every year at USC.
2002-dinged up a little, played behind FOO
2003-in spring practice of 2003, he had a busted hand. starter that year, best year for him at SC. He hurt his ACL for the 1st time against UM in the 2004 Rose Bowl.
2004-recovering from Jan. 2004 ACL injury + he needed surgery for benching too much weight and rupturing something in his shoulder or chest from an off-season workout.red-shirt year utilized here. Lee Webb was the starter? or Kirtman?
2005-completely healhty. unfortunately, Kirtman was a stud and THE HULK was hardly utilized.
2006-out for year with 2nd ACL injury of career. career-ending injury.
Over his lifetime (23 years old), THE HULK has had 13+ surgeries.
He's done, just like Patch (Herschel Dennis), and it appears Jeff Schweiger as well. Schweiger will never get any time at DE in the new D.
Havili has more potential than THE HULK!
This guy is a Champion. Great work ethic. True Gladiator. Epic Trojan.
He'll ignite the locker room & inspire others if he pulls this off. 'Rudy' who? ...
Hancock should defintely return! He's a great motivator and leader of that team! The guy's had a couple of tough breaks (no pun intended) but does what it takes to make it happen! The true fighting spirit of Trojan! Fight On Brandon!
It would be nice to see The Big Swole come back for a bowl game, if it helps us win. If not, it's not that big a deal.
Back in the olden days before weightlifting you saw fewer injuries. It is like blowing up a balloon to it's peak and the least touch pops it. It may be repaired, but is never the same. This applies to all sports, not just football as guys try to be macho.
I would be so glad to see Hancock return so quickly. I feel so bad for this guy. I still remember back to the sports illustrated where Hancock was ripped as an incoming freshman. He had so much potential but unfortunately had so many injuries. I hope he can make it back and hopefully have a good career in the nfl. People who criticize this hard working kid are idiots!
