Freaks And (Stat) Geeks
USC has 10 plays of at least 20 yards in two games. Last year, the Trojans had 112 plays of at least 20 yards in 13 games.
After two games last year, USC outscored its opponents 133-34 and averaged 627.0 yards. This year, the offense is averaging 435.5 yards and outscored its opponents 78-24.
The defense allowed 381.5 yards to Hawaii and Arkansas. This year, the defense allowed an average of 249.0 yards to Arkansas and Nebraska.

Hawaii =/= Nebraska, so what is the point?
You're comparing apples and oranges Scott. A fairer comparison would be the offense and defense stats for the first two games of Leirart's first season as starting qb versus Booty's first two starts. As always, you'll skew the "facts/stats" anyway you can to knock down USC. Not that you care, but don't count on getting an invitation to the Trojan's 2006-7 championship parade. If you have such a disdain for USC, why don't you find another team to cover. I respect and appreciate fair and impartial reporting. Alas, it doesn't appear Scott that you hold the same values.
great stats buddy... remember that these young assassins will be polished players come Domer time... setting up for an excellent D to play ohio st for the national champioship... it's okay to say it, okay to believe it... with PC The Godfather moving the chess pieces we'll see the puzzle come together come Jan. 2007.
Just as we thought coming into this season. The defense is better, the offense is catching up. No surprises here.
Again, don't usually agree with Scott but the point may be that this years defense has done better against better teams.
APPLES TO APPLES SHOWS BOOTY TO BE COOLER, AND IN MORE COMMAND THAN MATT HIS FIRST 2 STARTS...JOHN DAVID ALSO HAS A VERY YOUNG CAST-- 2 GAMES, 6 TD
PASSES AND NO MAJOR MISTAKES MAKES BOOTY EVERY BIT AS GOOD AS LEINART AFTER 2 GAMES IF NOT BETTER.
