Jarrett Doubtful

| | Comments (10) |

X-rays today revealed wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett sprained his shoulder. He is considered doubtful this week and could be out two-to-four weeks, but doctors are unsure because each individual responds differently to these type of injuries.
``It could be a two-to-four week deal. We’ve got to wait and see. I don’t know,'' USC coach Pete Carroll said. ``I wouldn’t be surprised knowing the competitor he is if he tried to go.''
Patrick Turner steps into the starting lineup if Jarrett is out while freshman Vidal Hazelton could also get some playing time.

Ouch, this one hurts an already reeling offense

I wonder how this will/would affect Jarrett's draft status for the 07 Draft...? Maybe with an incomplete season, he will be more apt to return for his senior yr.

The only positive thing about Jarrett's injury is that Booty uses Jarrett as a crutch and relies too much on him..I am looking for Turner to show something.

Or maybe he say's enough of getting hurt for free. Time to make the money.

Booty went to Turner quite a bit during garbage time last year though....

Without DJ the secondary will probably blitz more, single coverage on all the receivers might be a good thing. Patrick Turner will be OK. He can catch the same pass Jarrett has caught this season.
I think the Vidals and Travons of this world will get the opportunity Pete recruited them for This week. We are still better then Washington State, Washington and Arizona State on paper without Jarrett. Our defense will be the best any of our upcoming opponents have faced.

Fight On and get health trojans.

this situation is postive n negative. why? i don't know... jk.. nah but how its negative is that DJ is a very good receiver that SC needs when they're in trouble but he won't be a factor in the upcoming games... how it's postive is where i'll agree with Neal. your right JD is always looking for DJ but now that hes gone he won't have to rely on him all the time. so where that leads to, JD will now have to throw to everyone on the field cuz he now know's he won't rely on anyone specifically. so this means he'll c how great the receivers are n will through it to all their that SC has on offense. this is where SC will breakout on offense and when it begins is this Saturday in the Paluzz. JD will discover the hidden weapons that will destroy DBs throughout this year... FIGHT ON!

I agree with Matt in Chicago and Neal. Jarrett might be more apt to stay one more year considering this injury takes two to four games away from him and now this forces Booty to use his other receivers and simultaneously forces Patrick Turner into the mix more. I was wondering when Carroll was going to unleash this guy! FIGHT ON TROJAN NATION!

OMG..Here it comes yall. This I believe is the fastest set of WR's, Hazleton, Turner, and Smith. I can't wait to see this. After a long run by Moody or Washington. On the next play a fake to the RB and hopefully, the coaches wiii tell Booty to put some air under the ball and let these guys go get it. At some time they need to take the hand cuffs off and tell him...He Da Man!
FIGHT ON!

Remember a few years ago when Steve Smith broke his leg? That gave freshman Jarrett an opportunity to develop and SC went on to win the Nat Championship. Hopefully this will have the same happy ending!
