Among the recruits Washington State brought to the game was La Canada High tailback LaVelle Peterson, who rushed for a school-record 345 yards and five touchdowns last week. The Cougars' starting tailback, Dwight Tardy, is also from Southern California and attended St. Paul High.

I hope a kid from la canada ends up going to wsu. That would be hilarious.

Scott why do you post blogs hurting USC. This is getting crazy.

Dwight trady played a great game for wsu. Showed everyone what Swordsmen running backs could do.

Lavelle is a stud of a HS player for La Canada. He has scored that last nine touchdowns for LCHS.

Unfortunately, there are not enough scholarships to bring all California phenoms to USC. So what's your point, Scott? Perhaps we should reconsider and bring in Tardy, so he can sit at #6 on the USC depth chart? Heck no, let the kid play second fiddle at WAZU. He'll never beat USC anyways - nice try but no cigar. I'm sure there are no USC coaches pondering "maybe I should have snagged Tardy". No thanks. How about this kid Peterson? Is this kid from "Oh Canada" better than projected in-bound running back Marc Tyler? I guess, only time will tell. Retrospect does not win games. Otherwise, we will be kicking ourselves for not bringing in other Cali boys that got away over the years. Quit looking in the rear view mirror and Fight On! ...and again I say, Fight On!!!

La Canada huh? What no kids from Monrovia or Temple City? I hear San Marino has some solid offensive linemen who will be visiting Stanford soon.

San Marino sucks. San Gabriel Valley is weak in fball.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
