USC coach Pete Carroll said Thursday night freshman tailback Stafon Johnson made the travel squad for the Arizona game. It was a late decision because Johnson was not on the original travel list.

Very glad to hear it, looks like SJ has been working hard and its being rewarded

I hope Stafon gets some playing time and can make PC realize he'd been making a mistake.

Stafon, now its your turn, fight on brother.

must be a real pisser when last season you're a star and this yr you're just another five star trying to make the team...guess that's why usc sits at the top rather than being an also ran....attaining excellence can be a bitch some times....but then the payoff is worth it....another national championship, another trophy...it doesn't get any better until you cash your first NFL check..fight on stafon!!!

I soured on him when he would not play Full Back.

Stafon has finally got off the list. I think PC wanted to teach him a lesson that is hard to teach to someone with his talent- that he has to work. And he has. I think PC didn't do this without some really huge expectations of him.

PETE PLAYED 13 FR IN 2 GAMES--HE HAS USED ALL RB'S CEPT STEFON...THE FR HAVE DONE A FINE JOB AND THE USE OF ALL RB'S HAVE TO SEND AN AMAZING MESSAGE TO FUTURE RECRUITS....."GO TO USC, COMPETE WELL AND YOU WILL PLAY"......

CSUMatt,

Have you actually seen Stafon? He's a bit on the small size to play fullback, might you be thinking of someone else?

CSUMatt,

It was Bradford, not Stafon Johnson, who said he wouldn't play fullback, if I'm not mistaken.

It wasn't Stafon Johnson. The guy would never be considered for a fullback with his size and speed. This is how false rumors can start. Let's kill this one.

Gotta Love Stafon Johnson. He is determined to succeed - refused to redshirt. He has also realized the past couple of weeks, that hard work and mastering that playbook is the key to getting on the field. I'm rooting for him to get a couple of carries in this game. He may get his chance, since CJ Gable is nursing a sore knee. Can't wait to see what Stafon has - hopefully he will run like a man possessed.
