On Bush

For those wondering, the mood at USC is fairly calm regarding the recent revelations about Reggie Bush, and many still believe USC will not be punished.
``At this point, no one has compelling evidence of wrongdoing,'' a high-ranking official said.

The evidence is everywhere, one simply needs to look around. Sanctions are coming, enjoy probation Trojans.

I think Trojan fan is at his peak and he can't imagine anything bad happening to his beloved team, after all the rape and drug charges along with the DJ rent situation he thinks the program is invincible. However, Bush committed the cardinal sin and the team will never be the same. I predict a decent season this year with sanctions coming during the off-season.

When agents do these things, they are not out to benefit the University's football program. In fact, just the opposite is true. They intend only harm by enticing kids to leave early. NCAA penalties are generally designed to penalize schools for receiving unfair advantages. When it comes to agents throwing money around, there simply are no advantages to be gained by the University. The worst thing the NCAA could do is to enable unscrupulous agents to bring down a football program. THAT can of worms must never be opened.

miguelito what is your deal? You come on this site talking crap daily, you are on your period with no tampons. Your hate for USC is great and I respect that, but the question remains, why are you on this site. What is the point to sit around unemployeed in Ohio, married to your monitor, talking crap.

Would you like a hug from someone of the opposite sex? Is your thundercat myspace page not getting hits?

I'm worried about you. You need a friend or a team to depend on. Your not smart enough to be a bruin and Notre Dame fans do not normally have the internet or running water so I ask, who is your team? And instead of answering that, goto there site.

Please get off a blog for people who enjoy USC football.Go to your blog for sex offenders, people who stay at home with moms and people who eat happy meals. Please respond hater.

funny thing is the ncca cant do anything until the crimional investigation is over and from the looks of it ..its going to last at least 4 years..

fight on haters!

I think if USC can get away with giving back last years Pac-10 title, Reggie's Heisman and all his stats from last year and being put on probation for a couple of years they would be tremendously lucky! If the 2004 title is stripped and they are not allowed to go to bowl games for a year or two that would be devastating!

--- marlonmj to miguelito

This was the funniest thing I've read on this blog. :)

The reality is that Bush's family and Reggie himself made more than one bad judgement call in all of this. The university may have as well, if indeed they turned a blind eye to it. So then if that is the case, it becomes plain and simple an issue of accountability.

In our society, accountability has become an endangered species. I love USC football, and USC as an institution. But that doesn't mean I can't be disappointed when they run away from accountability, from issues like the student ticket sales and that fiasco, to accepting the responsibility to being the watch dog of young men in their football program who they know from experience will be targets. (now there was a long run-on sentence)

I believe in Pete Carrool and his program. But even he is not perfect and he does not strike me as the type of coach, or man, who would run away from accountability. Unfortunately, this might hurt USC in the near future. But it was really Reggie and his family who hold the smoking gun here.

To quote an old Western film from many moons ago -- "Say it aint so, Reg!"

When you allow the agents into the locker room and on the sidelines, you are enabling the agents. Carroll and his staff welcomed these agents with welcome arms until the Bush story broke. As Pat Ruel said, they were in the locker room, on the sidelines, in the athletic offices, in Heritage Hall and at practices. Do you think these agents never spoke with recruits in the locker room during official visits? What's you honest answer?
