I'm just impressed after watching both the Michigan and USC games you have Michigan ranked 2 spots ahead of USC. I mean I think Arkansas is a better SEC team than Vandy, and Michigan won but didn't play well like USC did against Arkansas.

Is West Virginia receiving votes because writers believe they truly are best or because, with their schedule (now Louisville has lost their running back it's even easier), writers know they will finish undefeated?

Along with West Virginia, Auburn, Michigan, and Florida State are overrated here, Iowa underrated imho.

You really think Lloyd Carr's Michigan team is better than SC at #6? I think SC beats Michigan in a neutral field tomorrow, and even at the "big house," so I would put them below SC. I'm not sold on Florida, yet, either. And I know West Virginia is there only because they can win every game they play now (especially after Michael Bush's injury -- Louisville is not the threat to them they could have been).

It's interesting that although you did not consider Cal to be a Top 25 team, you nevertheless moved Tennessee from #24 to #16 on your ballot by virtue of its 17-point win-- at home-- over the Bears. Meanwhile, you considered Arkansas to be a Top 25 team, yet you held USC steady at #8 on your ballot after the Trojans-- on the road-- thrashed the Razorbacks by 36.

You are a great news reporter, but your analysis on USC is terrible. USC goes into a hostile enviornment after losing what they lost on both sides of the ball, beat the team by 36 points and then you give them a C+ average and then rank them 8th. I know you are not trying to be overly unbiased, so I must conclude you just don't get it.

Has anyone looked at West Virginia's schedule? I'm sure Scott has. WVU literally doesn't play anyone that will even sniff the top 10, let alone the top 25. They have the easiest path to an undefeated season, while the rest will be knocking each other off. Let's take care of business and win a few more games before we get all upset about anyone's list. Lets start with West Virginia. What conference are they in and look who they play on saturday, Eastern Washington. Enough said! USC would destroy them!

What can I say about Florida State except that I was very UNIMPRESSED with them on Monday night against Miami. They gained 1 yard in total rushing. USC would destroy them!

Michigan is definitely overated. They played a weak SEC team and looked bad in the process. They play Central Michigan on Saturday. Who is Central Michigan? USC would destroy them!

The only thing I can say about LSU is an improved Arizona team is waiting and USC would destroy them!

I also felt UNIMPRESSED with Notre Dame's performance against Georgia Tech. Their downfall is inevitable due to the media practically anointing them national champion. I only hope they get through September unscathed so that come November 25th, USC is waiting.

Actually it is a conspiracy on the part of Wolf and Carroll. It is designed to provide bulleton board material. Carroll uses it for motivation purposes.
