Michigan at 6th is a joke & W. Virginia will choke.

TrojanEncore said:

How can you have Mich that high as badly as they looked on Sat.? Why is Texas so low? I think they are the best team in nation.

andy said:

I'm just impressed after watching both the Michigan and USC games you have Michigan ranked 2 spots ahead of USC. I mean I think Arkansas is a better SEC team than Vandy, and Michigan won but didn't play well like USC did against Arkansas.

sweat said:

after what I saw from Florida State last night, I am not so sure I buy that one...

dman said:

FSU ahead of USC. Did you see the game Monday night. 13 -10. I'm ready for the day that we score less than 13 points, even against FSU. Florida is not much better...

steve said:

who's opinion is this???? better check collegefootballnews.com for the real deal...!!!

csufmatt said:

Is this the Wolf 25?

I didn't think MICH or FSU looked better than USC...

Alex said:

There is no way that Florida, Michigan and LSU are ahead of USC on this list when considering this past Saturday's performances.

Sorry. Please try again.

JJH4USC said:

Ignore my previous post to your preseason poll. You were right on the money...Cal is way overrated! Wolfie you are a genius.

john e said:

Is West Virginia receiving votes because writers believe they truly are best or because, with their schedule (now Louisville has lost their running back it's even easier), writers know they will finish undefeated?

Along with West Virginia, Auburn, Michigan, and Florida State are overrated here, Iowa underrated imho.

Alan said:

So do you think W. Virginia is the best team in the country, or do you just think they are the team least likely to lose because of their schedule?

Matt said:

What in the hell is that? I sincerely hope that's not your vote.

Ray said:

You really think Lloyd Carr's Michigan team is better than SC at #6? I think SC beats Michigan in a neutral field tomorrow, and even at the "big house," so I would put them below SC. I'm not sold on Florida, yet, either. And I know West Virginia is there only because they can win every game they play now (especially after Michael Bush's injury -- Louisville is not the threat to them they could have been).

Brian said:

It's interesting that although you did not consider Cal to be a Top 25 team, you nevertheless moved Tennessee from #24 to #16 on your ballot by virtue of its 17-point win-- at home-- over the Bears. Meanwhile, you considered Arkansas to be a Top 25 team, yet you held USC steady at #8 on your ballot after the Trojans-- on the road-- thrashed the Razorbacks by 36.

mike said:

Michigan's lethargic home game vs Vandy has them ahead of SC's strong road win?

Rankings are also not supposed to be precdictions of outcome. West Virginia would be an underdog vs the rest of your top 12.

krayzi3b0ne said:

Man thats whack yo we dropped to #8!!!!!!!!!

John said:

Do your really think West Virginia is the best team or that they have the best chance to run the table because of the their schedule. Just curious.

Sal said:

Wow...you can't be serious here.

MD said:

OK, it's all subjective, so no debate about who's No. 1 or where USC is.

But how does Miami move from No. 12 on your preseason ballot up to No. 11 last night after they gain five yards in the second half and lose to Florida State?

Mark said:

Wolfie needs to find a home in the MAC. SC moved up to #3 despite his hater mentality. Thanks to Cal and ASU, Pac-10 will have to depend on the Trojans for national respect. UCLA in others receiving consideration.

You are a great news reporter, but your analysis on USC is terrible. USC goes into a hostile enviornment after losing what they lost on both sides of the ball, beat the team by 36 points and then you give them a C+ average and then rank them 8th. I know you are not trying to be overly unbiased, so I must conclude you just don't get it.

Bill Dwyre said:

are you retarded? if Michigan played USC, you think Michigan would win? and just because WV has the easiest path to the national championship does not mean they are #1.

It looks like 1540 The Ticket is about done rearranging deck chairs - it looks like that hull is caving in. If the station was so important and valuable why didn't the new owners want it as part of the deal? Log onto www.insideradio.com for the front page story. Does Petros speak Korean?

Scott, I've spent a lot of time defending you against the people who say you're too negative, but it seems you really like being contrarian more than you like being negative. If you were WVU's beat writer, I suspect you'd see them as overrated and USC as underrated.

Jordan said:

You actually get paid for crap like this?

USCBRED said:

That Florida State offense should make us all envious. Whatever you are smoking Scott it must be really good stuff. If you have FSU rated in front of SC after that debacle you need to get out and breathe some of our famous smog to clear your head.

COACHES' POLL:
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/usatpoll.htm

Has anyone looked at West Virginia's schedule? I'm sure Scott has. WVU literally doesn't play anyone that will even sniff the top 10, let alone the top 25. They have the easiest path to an undefeated season, while the rest will be knocking each other off. Let's take care of business and win a few more games before we get all upset about anyone's list. Besides, Scott was right about Cal, so he earned the right to be contrarian for a while. Fight On!

Scott Wolf you are a joke. You are a talentless hack of a writer, and lord knows how you got your job, but it should be taken away immediately, and with force.

And you cover USC why? You're this close to the program and can't see how good they are? I now know that you got your degree from clown college.

Whoever this was, please guess again!

Lets start with West Virginia. What conference are they in and look who they play on saturday, Eastern Washington. Enough said! USC would destroy them!

What can I say about Florida State except that I was very UNIMPRESSED with them on Monday night against Miami. They gained 1 yard in total rushing. USC would destroy them!

Michigan is definitely overated. They played a weak SEC team and looked bad in the process. They play Central Michigan on Saturday. Who is Central Michigan? USC would destroy them!

The only thing I can say about LSU is an improved Arizona team is waiting and USC would destroy them!

I also felt UNIMPRESSED with Notre Dame's performance against Georgia Tech. Their downfall is inevitable due to the media practically anointing them national champion. I only hope they get through September unscathed so that come November 25th, USC is waiting.

Fight On!

Matt said:

Mr. Wolf I dare you to put this in your paper! It's bizarre. I generally don't care where my team is in the polls, just win and things seem to take care of themselves. But I do count on objective thought going into the voting for polls.

Are you a voter?

It's really to early to be arguing about all this, but I've got to ask, DID YOU WATCH MIAMI-FSU LAST NIGHT? Neither team would even come close to beating virtually all of the other teams on your list. They were pathetic.

Thanks for the forum. Hope you answer some of these questions.

Such vitriol! It's fine to disagree but really.

Here's a poll that most will think closer to what is happening. Always enjoy the blog, Scott.

Oh boy, this is going to get you barred from Heritage Hall. Or they will be teasing you unmercifully about this in November. I don't see how Auburn and West Virginia play into a Top 5 in your poll. You didn't provide any analysis. Are you like Granny Lou and trying to drive up your ratings by picking in such a contrarian fashion?

What a joke. This colwn truly should be ashamed of himself. Using the poll vote to generate interest is embarrassing. Very unprofessional.

Michigan ahead of USC?! Laughable.

Actually it is a conspiracy on the part of Wolf and Carroll. It is designed to provide bulleton board material. Carroll uses it for motivation purposes. It will be expecially important for them to do this, should USC reach the No. 1 ranking in the Coaches and AP polls. Pete can say, let's not let it go to our heads, we are still not Number 1 in the Wolf poll! Ingenious don't you think!
