When In Rome . . . Or Fayetteville

USC coach Pete Carroll quickly adapted to his surroundings last night, saying of the Arkansas offense, ``They only had two drives that were worth a hoot.''
The Razorbacks probably would have had more than two that were worth a hoot if freshman quarterback Mitch Mustain played the entire game.

mustain came in when the pressure was off and the only question was going to be the final score, also he did not face the first string defense so I am not so sure scott

mustain would of also thrown 5 ints if he played an entire game

Mustain gets used if he's playing the first unit that wasn't mop up time; once the D (coaches) figured out what they were doing, he would be exposed as a true frosh in his first game

A TD on set plays from his high school days against second teamers (with the game out of reach) and an interception. A success all the way around for young Mustain...

*rolls eyes*

Hell, all I care about is that Ark wins all the rest of their games. The strength of schedule thingy....
I think that Dick will become their starting QB eventually....Johnson will become a receiver and Mustain will go through the Frosh thing....

Now that we've slaughtered you....Go Hogs...

Well, that why you're a reporter and not a coach.
Pathos and all that.

I thought that was a cool offense and that Mustain,
when he was in, ran it well. He throws a catchable ball and I think they would have moved the chains. I do think he would have forced the issue as well and thrown a few picks.

Two words, Bull Pucky! No way not a chance no how. The kid will be a good QB in the future but he would have allowed Arkansas to get pounded even worse.

Can I just ask, why are you so negative on SC? Is it because you don't want to be perceived as a homer?

Anyone notice that three USC freshmen RBs scored touchdowns?

University of Springdale HS... err, I mean Arkansas, would have gotten beat anyway you look at it.

I agree Mustain would of probably of given them a better game however he came in when the Trojans were in a prevent and the 1st string was out.

TrojanHorse said:

I hope Ark does well the rest of the year but it seems that by going with the Springdale state lineup, that they are in for a few beatings before reaping any of the rewards.

Whats up with moving the HS team up to the SEC level though?

That's funny.. If Mustain played against the 1st team defense the whole game they don't score a single TD but someone who doesn't understand football can't see that.

Felipe said:

I don't believe Mitch Mustain could have done any better than the 1st string QB especially against the first team defense.

TROJANS PLAYED A CONSERVATIVE FIRST HALF BUT LOOKED VERY CONFIDANT..THE 2ND HALF OPENED UP AND SHOWED HOW THE OFFENSE CAN BE ONE OF THE MOST AGILE IN THE NATION... THE OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO BOOTY WERE FANTASTIC...IT MUST HAVE LOOKED LIKE A FIRE DRILL TO THE ARK DB'S...THE FB, POWDRELL HAD 77 YDS AND TE DAVIS HAD 55 YDS-- THAT IS GREAT FOOTBALL.......

Mustain did look good in his first series, then he looked like a child, staring down the receiver and throwing into double coverage for a pick. I've been reading some of what the Razorbacks have to say online and they all back Mustain. Reminds me of when Carson Palmer came in and threw a beautiful pass down the right sideline in his first series as a true freshman. Seems like a lifetime ago ...
