A Little More Carroll
Here's some Sunday night comments from USC coach Pete Carroll:
On the running game: ``The offense did not run nearly as well (this week). We didn’t get the ball to (Emmanuel) Moody as much as we would like. We need a better mix at running back.’'
On the defense: ``It was not nearly the pass rush we hoped to get. They played really well and we weren’t getting the ball from them. Their execution on that (hurry-up touchdown) drive was perfect.''
On Washington's 4-1 start: ``That’s a great, great start. They’re playing well in all areas. Tyrone Willingham's done a great job. The program’s in high spirits.''

This is a make or break week. With 9 major injuries and a bag full of inexperienced players, the trojans are primed for their first loss. And Washington is playing well enough to provide it. If SC does escapes with a win, maybe they can buy some time, before Oregon, to get some players healthy, add some more experience and thus put the 'kick butt' back in Fight On.
I think the comments are true, WSU played great, executed well, and kudos need to go to an opponenet when they do something right. On that note, our execution needs to improve this week. I'm not that worried about losing to UDub at home but I do worry that we really need to improve our execution the next few weeks, we need to do well so we can play some subs and heal some key players in time for the November battles.
I'm not worried about this week. The team is back at home with teh Colisuem crowd behind them and should be fine. The game that most concerns me now is Oregon. They are for real...
