What was all of that cheering I heard coming out of the east after the game yesterday? Oh yeah, the east coast bias (media) finally getting what they wanted, a Trojan defeat. Now maybe the east coast bias can find a way to put FSU and Miami back into the spot light even with the lousy seasons these two teams are having. I just hope USC doesn't get too beaten up in the media over this game and the remainder of the season.

Wish list: BCS Chamiponship game - Bosie State vs Rugters This would be sweet, the whole country could move on after Jan 1 and focus on other sports and the BCS could have the game nobody would want.

Does anyone know what the early line for the Bosie State/Rugters matchup would be?

USC falls to 12th and 13th in the polls. They are done. Your assumption that the Trojans run the table is absurd. USC will finish no better than 9-3.

Yea, and all of the problems spell out "bad coaching".

PC and the staff just aren't getting the job done. When you have talent that can't play like they know basics, then it proves there is a coaching problem.

Think of this, USC hasn't won a National Title since Norm Chow left, and just got kicked out of the race for this year.

Oh well, I still love the school, and I'll be there when the team plays in the Vegas Bowel this year.

BUT it should have been at least the Rose Bowl which won't happen this year I fear.

1. in the real troy, the residents of the city brought on their own destruction by not getting the trojan horse out of their city before it was too late.

2. since pete carroll arrived at troy, having been fired 2 times by nfl teams as the second choice after the infamous dennis erickson, usc football teams have won on the field while bringing shame to the new usc off the field and in the press.

as one of your colleagues at the daily trojan put it when bushgate and the other scandals hit the press" usc is already at fault!!"

3. sure, steve cooley can be depended on not to bring charges against usc football players, no matter what they do, and perhaps the code of silence can keep the ncaa at bay for a while longer.

4. however, many of my friends who graduated from usc and who are attending usc now or thinking about it are asking themselves why they should take any more chances of having usc's fine new academic reputations enronized by the fellows running this usc football program.

5. with all of the athletic talent on the usc football team( no 1 recruiting classes based solely on talent, not on moral character or academic ability) is there not something very seriously wrong with the people running that football program when they lose to an oregon state team which has never even had a recruiting class ranked( and needing the help of some very dubious ref calls to win the 3 games before this)?

6. does the new usc really want to put its hard earned academic reputation at risk by continuing to cover up for a football program that does not belong at the new usc?

7. after all, usc football has a fine tradition of winning and doing courageous things, such as the john mckay team that had the courage and guts to play alabama at alabama in 1970 with an integrated football team when people in the south were still stringing up black people( not only mississippi was burning).

usc football can play things straight and win with football players who meet the academic and moral standards of the new usc.

8. having attended usc and written for the daily trojan, and continued to cover usc football for the daily news, you would know the answers to these questions and the real facts much better that the rest of us.

This is actually kind of pointless point to argue.

They are out of the national championship picture.

They lost to a poor, unranked team. Not an Unranked Florida St. or Miami. 3-3 Oregon st. The only possible way they could get to the BCS would be if WVU lost to Louisville, Michigan lost to some team other than Ohio st., and for some reason the pollsters choose to elevate them over Florida and Auburn. Highly, highly doubtful.

Not only are they out of the national championship picture for this year, they are for next year, too. I hate to be brutally honest but that game was the worst I have seen a USC team play since about 2000. Fumbles, botched snaps, penalties, stupid calls, no defense at all (the Third string OSU RB got 100 yards) Kind of reminded me of the Paul Hackett days. This team is a total mess and their luck finally ran out.

Right now Pete Carroll is having a panic attack and will try to get some of these things fixed. But I just don't see this team beating Notre Dame, Cal and Oregon and then a team like Michigan or Florida in a bowl game. With 2 or 3 (4?) loses, will they even be ranked at the end of the year? If they end up at #11 or so, they will start next year around #10-15. And there isn't much chance that they are going to get to the BCS bowl game starting at #14.

the bad news is that they lost a game...the good news is that now they know that 1)that is a posibility and 2)it's a lot more fun to win than lose...fight on gentleman !!! nothing to it but to do it !!

All of these excuses are starting to get on my nerves.

Yes we have some young guys. Not all. We still have Sartz, Lua, Jackson, Ellis, Thomas, Jarrett, Smith, Kalil, Williams..I read these posts and people act like we have 22 18 year old freshmen out there on offense and defense. Ohio st. has about 7 new guys on defense. How about Auburn? Every team has young guys playing. It's not an excuse for losing games.

Yes we have injuries. Everyone has injuries, too. When we played Nebraska their starting center was out. Gotta play through it.

We have bad luck and bad calls. So does everyone. Ask Oklahoma. Watch the south carolina-Tennessee game yesterday and how the ball was bouncing all over and finally into the hands of a Tennessee player.

I just don't believe a good fan sits and watches the team lose to Oregon st. and says "hey what's with all the complaints?"

Well, maybe if you are an ostrich, they like to stick their head in the sand. :o))

It must have been a cursed Halloween weekend. Everything was flipped. For those of you who dont know, on the day that our Trojans lost, the TEMPLE OWLS snapped the nation's current longest winless streak. Man, yesterday was all f***ed up.

This is what needs to be fixed :

QB: Booty picks one WR and throws to him all game, poor accuracy no confidence.

RB: Washington fumbles once ever 1.5 times he touches the ball, it seems. No one else is doing anything, Moody has disappeared. OL is not openning holes.

WR: Everyone has disappeared besides Smith. DJ has gotten a case of stone hands. They don't even throw to anyone else.

OL: "Oh those penalties" as Keith Jackson used to say. Offsides, neutral zone infraction, illegal man downfield..

DL: No pressure on opposing QB. Don't even have a rush defense anymore, Backup OSU RB got 100 yards. No one stepping up.

LB's: Continually overrun plays. No sacks. No INT's. Always chose the wrong gap on runs. No one stepping up.

DB's: Can't follow a ball in the air. Sit in zone coverage and let the ball be caught in front of them. Penalties on top of penalties. Holding, interference, face guarding..

Coaching: Poor decisions in every game, most recently throwing and getting intercepted on the OSU 2 yard line in 1st quarter, not going for FG at end of game.

Well, I hope PC has the coffee maker fired up he has alot of work to do to keep us out of the Poulan weedwhacker bowl in beautiful Boise, Idaho...

USC right now looks like Pete's NFL teams. We will never win another national championship or Heisman with the current coaching staff. If Pete continues to insist on Kiffin being the OC, we will slide back into mediocrity.

USC has not looked good in any game save for the first one. We were lucky to beat Wash, Wash St, and ASU. It finally caught up to us against OSU. And this was after a BYE!

I think SC will still beat ND this year as they are IMO, vastly overrated. But I have a chance we're headed for the Holiday Bowl.

Here's the problem as I see it. Plain and simple...it's GREED!

What I hoped for was a very good, competitive team that makes it to a good bowl game. Shakes off a few bandwagoners and gains valuable experience, while finding its own identity for a strong run at '07, 08' & '09.

Now, HAD all those JUNIORS stayed in school... Redcorn, eftzoons, Miguelito and Bruinshuffle11 could KMA.

Unrealistic and overrated expectations have finally lowered us to mindless babel. This is a rebuilding year, with young players; new starters in key positions--not to mention injuries--and a monster monkey on their back, by the name of 'the last 3 years'! Even the great recruiting years could not shake the monkey off without serious growing pains. For all the true fans, enbrace the process, knowing there will be plenty more ugly moments and also knowing the next 34-0 run will likely never happen; since it has occured only once or twice in college history. Bye bandwagon groupies, best wishes. For the rest of us... Fight On, Troy!

Hell, we were on the 2 yd line going to tie the game after a furious comeback. The ACLU bitches that clog this place might look in their own house, losing to WSU by 3TDs in thier own crib and now having a struggle on their hands to even become bowl eligible...the enabelers like Gilleran and Miquelito and this fool Fzoons crawl in here to poop in the punch bowl, the arm chair QBs that berate constantly couldn't actually coach a pop warner team in the park... but do you all actually believe that every year is going to be an undefeated season? If so, you'd better look back at the not so glorious years which were not that long ago. Hell, the next time I log in here, I'd not be surprised to find some of you losers bitching about one of our beautiful cheerleaders having a pimple on her cheek.... So keep whining you spoiled rotten bandwagoneers and the rest of us out here that truly support the kids on the field will continue to Fight On!

What game were you guys watching? I finally saw a team that looked like the USC Trojans in the 4th quarter. We went down the field like a hot knife through butter and the defense had I think 6 sacks on the day. The turnovers early on killed us and it wasn't Lame Kiffin's fault, it wasn't Pete's fault it was the boys on the field that had ample oppurtunity to win the game early on that blew it and some of it was just bad luck. The Booty interception in the end zone was 6 inches from being a touchdown. The pulling guard knocked the ball out of Booty's hand on the snap, and Chauncey just has to hold on to the ball better, but these turnovers kept the other team in the game. However, all that being said I finally saw something that looked like the championship teams of the last few years. The team that has been winning the past few games did not look like the USC Trojans. Now they know how to play, let them get started and let's win out. There is no other 1 loss team that has as strong a schedule as USC except maybe Florida, and they will have to play in the SEC championship game which could be another loss, if they don't lose before then. Michigan and OSU have weak schedules compared to us so whoever loses should drop a good bit in the polls. Keep your head up and Fight ON we are still THE USC TROJANS!!

OK, all you palm-wringing sunshine patriots, get off the Trojan bandwagon and make room for those us who live and die each weekend with our team. Having seen every moment of every USC game for the past 30 years, I will take this season to any of those from, say, 1980 through 2000.

Booty is fine, and he'll be better. The turnovers will stop. Coming from 23 down in the fourth quarter to nearly force overtime is hardly a signal that the end of the world is near.

I can't believe all of you people who slam the team after the THIRD LOSS IN 54 GAMES! Are you all crazy? We all knew this would be a tough year. We lost a LOT of talent from one of the greatest teams in history. We simply can NOT expect this team to excel like the team from the last 2-3 years. I fully expect another 2, maybe 3 losses. Will I like it? NO! Will I understand, and know the team is working hard? YES! Will I expect more from them next year? YES! To the jerkoffs that posted negative crap about PC, the team, and the coaching staff, I could care less what you have to say. The REAL USC fans will be here, supporting our team, when you have gone on to ther next "Texas," "West Virginia," or whatever flavor of the month you deem to be the best. True USC fans have been here, are here, and will continue to be here, cheering our hearts out for this ENTIRE team, coaching staff, and university.

The "new" USC. What in the hell does that mean? USC has always been a football school, if you want an institituion concerned with only academics then go to an Ivey League School.

As far as the football team destroying the repuatation of the school..... that is absurd.

I'm sure if you looked at students(non athletes) at USC you will find plenty who have been disciplined for cheating, drugs, drinking, sexual assualt, etc. The difference of course is that no one pays attention to these students. They are simply disciplied by the Police, University or expelled. It does not become National News.

Maybe he's so pissed about his pathetic life because he was DISBARRED in California (perhaps by a USC judge) because he "penalized his clients by billing them for obnoxious behavior." Maybe he shouldn't be lecturing us about the "new USC" and its unethical recruiting practices given his own shady history. OUCH!!!

BTW, winning 51 of 54 ain't bad, kiddies!
