Flyover Saturday

An Air Force F-117 Nighthawk will fly above the Coliseum during the national anthem tomorrow.

If the weather is bad/cludy/rainy, then probably no flyover.

considering we got a 747 last wk... that seems like a step down...what's the deal ??

Can we get some kind of law on the ballot to get the patrotic crap out of football? I'm sure we could get Cal and most of Northern California behind it.... It's really annoying to those of us who don't get all excited about killing babies.

The 3X stealth slow speed flyover at the Rose Bowl 2004 was the greatest I've seen.

i think matthew needs a helio ride out to catalina one of these nites...??

I like the idea of the military flyovers. It is the constant patriotic reminder to all Americans that there are more serious sacrifices going on in the world, which have a direct result in allowing us all to enjoy our freedoms such as athletic events. Why do you think singing the national anthem has always been a part of our American sports culture? It basically helps us to keep many things in perspective - stay grounded.
Of course, there will always be your handful of unpatriotic and ungrateful fans, such as Matthew (above). Unfortunately, soldiers even sacrifice their lives for ungrateful Americans as well.

Matthew, I'm right there with you my brother.

RE: Flyover/patriotism
For the record it is correctly spelled:
P A T R I O T I C
It is ashame that the loud critic can NOT even spell much less APPRECIATE the effort of OUR US American Military who can afford you the right to your loud verbage. That indeed it is an American tragedy, unfortunately comes with the territory. I have just read that a seal gave his life by throwing himself over a grenade thrown by an Iraqui insurgent to protect his team. I am 59 YO and when I hear/read things like that I cry inside and outside. Let's push for the Medal Of Honor for that young man.
Semper Fi America

As a former Army officer and veteran of both conflicts in Kosovo and Iraq, I feel sorry for individuals like Matthew (and Osama -good one). They don't know about serving something greater than themselves. The Stealth fighter pilots will represent our brave men and women in uniform and the sacrifices they make everyday for our rights. Thankfully, Americans like Matthew are in the minority and our troops are constantly thanked for their duty. Personally, Mike Garrett gave me and my best friend from Iraq sideline passes for the SC/ND game in '04. It was a remarkable experience and was an amazing gesture from Mike and his staff.

Can we get some kind of law on the ballot to get the moronic rantings out of this comment section? It's really annoying to those of us who don't get all excited to accuse our military of targeting babies.

Just ignore that guy. Those people that criticize the military only get happier if you answer them. Like a 5 year old.

Matthew...this Viet Nam/Cold War Era disabled veteran cordially invites you to leave my f^%%&ng country and move to Iran/Iraq/N Korea/Syria/etc...you name the place you ungreatful B^$!^rd!

OH and don't bother reposting anything with "FIGHT ON" in it....It would just seem oxymoronic coming from you!

Baby killers, Matthew. And the terrorists aren't? How many babies or children died on those planes on 9-11? How many pregnant women too?

You are an embarrassment to your country, Matthew! But, that's okay, you are representing a small percentage of America, so well just consider the source.

How 'bout the 2006 Rose Bowl when the B-1 Bomber flew over the Rose Bowl. I'll never forget Keith Jackson saying, 'Boy, when he lit the candle this place just shook!' Awesome stuff!

To all of our men and women out there defending are great country, I want to say thank you to all of you. Keep up the good work...there are many more supporting you all then those cynics and whiners that aren't! Go USA!!

Sorry folks! I meant to say, "we'll just consider the source", and "our great country!"

RE: Flyover/Patriotism
In my response to Mr. Matthew I mentioned the death of a Navy Seal. BTW I apologize for NOT starting Seal with a capital S.
For those who care and have NOT read the report here is the link:

and then click on SEAL FALLS on Grenade to Save Comrades
Thanks

Fly overs are awesome as is our military.. thanks guys (military) and gals.

A 747 step down from stealth fighters.. I don't think so

can these fighters shoot down Scotts picks?

I love fly-overs at any cost! They're very cool. I get goose bumps! (Just like I do to Dr. Bartner's arrangement of the SSB). By the way, what was the cost? (in dollars...to the university) Any one know? It can't be free!
