Fullback Update

| | Comments (6) |

Fullback Stanley Havili is still hoping to return and will be examined by doctors tonight. His return might be vital since the fullback position continues to atrophy each week in the offense.
UPDATED: Looks like Havili will need to wait another week before practicing.

I sure hope so that kid has talent. A big help to the team.

If I can ask, why in the world are we still playing Jody Adewale? Anyone? The other team's defense doesn't even bother with the guy. It's like making us play 10 vs. 11. I mean, he's a great charector guy who has stuck with the program but wasn't he a walk-on? Why don't we just put Lou Ferrigno Jr. out there too.

Good point Patrick. I have nothing against a player like Adewale. He is 100 times better than I would be.

But there are times when SC brings in certain substitution packages where you can basically not even cover someone.

Heck, when number 48 Brad Walker comes in its usually a run or a pass NOT To him. The closest he has ever come to the ball is when Reggie tried to flip him the ball in the Rose Bowl.

Also- When Hazelton and Patterson are in, they are never thrown to. Brittingham never gets the ball.

What made the SC offenses go the last 4 years was the amount of weapons on the field and how the ball was distributed to them.

Whether it was Carson hitting Holmes on a 3rd and 5 or hitting Malefou McKenzie in the flat; or Leinart hitting Kirtman or McFoy, there was always a safety valve. Heck, LenDale was a helluva ball catcher.

SC doesn't have that yet. The running backs are non-existent in the passing game. Davis is the only TE that is thrown to. DJ, Smith, and P. Tuner are the only receivers that see the ball and if you take away the Washington game, Turner is non-existent.

Once SC's offense starts spreading the ball around, then it will be just like old times. Mark my word. These guys just need the rock thrown to them or as TMac (Todd McNair) says, "High Speed Collisions....With the Rock in your Hands!"

I believe (not 100% sure though) that Ferrigno is done for the year isn't he (injury)?

FT ON, great post, I do think you said it all with that post. One thing I'd add though, we did not fumble the ball in the good ole days like they do now though.

LMAO at the Brad Walker Reggie comment
