Marlin and Mike McKeever were my inspiration to attend Mt. Carmel High School in Los Angeles. I went to Mt. Carmel in 1964 and graduated in 1968. I played football at Mt Carmel four years. Marlin had been my Catholic Confirmation sponsor in 1963. I had met Mike and Marlin when they were All- Americans at USC. They were my childhood heroes and I wanted to follow in their footsteps to high school and college. I graduated from USC in 1972. I got to visit with Marlin in 1982 at a Marden Susco golf tournament at Green River Country Club in Corona. We got to talk about MT. Carmel and USC and it was great to have been with him. He had given me his business card and I had lost it and didn't get to talk with him again. I am very sorry about that. I hope that God has a place for Marlin with his brother Mike in Heaven. I went to Mike's funeral Mass at St. Vincent's Catholic Church at Adams and Figueroa in Los Angeles in 1967. Every time I pass that church I always remember being at that funeral as a high school student at Mt. Carmel. God Bless those Crusaders and Trojans. Dan McDonald Class of 1968 and 1972, Mt. Carmel and USC.

Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
