No Bonus

The Galen Center officially opens tonight, which is a good thing for USC. But it's a mixed blessing for the construction company, which won't get a bonus because it could not deliver a finished product by September.

how about a mixed blessing in ryan francis not being able to be here to see it?

There's a good article in the Daily News (USC Season-ticket Holders Pay the Price by Matthew Kreddell) about the greed that has become USC and its athletic dept.

Pertaining to the football program, first they shaft the alumni, students and the band by assigning them crappy seats to make room for the $10K donors. Don't believe for a moment that Bartner supports the company line.

Then the University decides to continue this wonderful new tradition over to the basketball program.....place the student section behind the baskets, increase prices and screw the loyal fan base by requiring PSL's (personal seat license). Season ticket holders are facing a 160% increase and required to make additional donations. You want a mid center court seat, hand over $10K plus yearly dues, plus season ticket costs. The University hides behind it by calling it a donation, but in reality it's a PSL.

At these prices, the basketball program better start delivering. With the money the University saved on not having to pay a bonus to the construction company, we can assume the bonus money has been allocated to the class of '07: O.J. Mayo, Bill Walker and Aaron Progue.
