Don't expect any Pac-10 coaches that already played USC and California to pick sides.
``Don't ask me who's better, them or Southern Cal,'' Washington State coach Bill Doba said. ``I think I would pay to watch that one.''

Scott...interesting that you didn't have a post here when 1540 got it's 'ticket' punched last week. The LA airwaves are far better off without the blow-hard know-nothing Mark Willard (the rat).
Let's hope he lands a new gig in Beaumont, TX.

Huh - 1540 and Mark Willard got bumped off the air last week? I just heard him with Tony Bruno this morning...

Longshore for Cal has good overall numbers this year but he has awkward mechanics and is not great on the short to intermediate throws. And he's about as mobile as Drew Bledsoe. Also, their WRs continue to be inconsistent catching the football.
They can be devestating down the field when they get the running game going and then go to the play action game to give Longshore plenty of time.
I think USC actually matches up real well with Cal. Say what you want about Pete's cover-2 defense, they rarely give up big plays. If they can pressure Longshore enough - they don't need to sack him just make him move around a little - then his accuracy and decision making will suffer.
The key will come down to stopping Lynch and Forsett and that big O-line. It's a big task but USC has quietly been pretty good against the run this year.

Yeah nice post Davey...Cal has some talent, but their QB situation was/is such a mess. Ayoob totally screwed that team up. Longshore is nothing to speak of...he just manages the offense and hands the ball off.
The USC run D is great and when their running game doesn't work old Tedford is gonna hit the panic button again...:)

Dear Patrick:
Please look over the stats of Nate Longshore shown on the linked bear website, and see if your assessment needs modification.
A 169.8 ranking, including tops in the Pac-10 and 9th nationally is hardly "nothing to speak of".

Well TSN fired the whole LA crew there...and in its infinite wisdom found a way to keep paying the rat for doing a national show for a station that doesn't even register on the LA airwave ratings -- worse than the dodger/laker spanish station!!!!!
He's a mediocre talent at a worthless radio outfit.

scott,
1.perhaps you would be kind enough to explain to us the justification( we know that there is none) for your using your ap vote to rank west virginia no 1, over ohio state, michigan, louisville, and usc since west virginia is playing its 1st real game against louisville this week.
2. by the way, just so that the public knows, who selected you and your pal in san jose, who also has been ranking west virginia no 1, to be voters in the ap poll?
keep up the great work,

Mr. Morgan:
What's your beef with the [Spanish] station? I bracketed Spanish in order for you get the spelling message, OK?
