Petros Update

Some of you asked about Petros Papadakis, who has not been on the air since the middle of the week. Papadakis is meeting with management of 1540 this weekend and his future at the station should be clear by Monday, according to sources.

Like Pete Arbogast said, the Ticket's loss will be another stations gain. Fight on Petros!

If Petros isn't on 1540 the ticket anymore, I will not listen to 1540 the ticket any longer. I don't like tony b and mark williard, dave smith is good but now has to be a national guy so local sports arent the focus, 2 live stews can be irratating at times. Petros, batting clean up is the premire talkshow host in LA. I hope the P is back on the air soon!!!!

I hope ESPN 710 fires Gary Miller and DiMarco Fare and slides Petros into their 1:00 to 3:00 time slot. Petros would then be on the USC station, where he belongs, and he'd be on a station which can be heard down here in O.C. What could be more perfect?

1540 is on its way out with me anyway, so hopefully Petros can go to 710 like someone else said

What is the dispute?

Petros is a talented man. He know his sports and is smart enough to know there's a lot more to life than sports. However, I don't think he gets that most of us could care less about his personal, really really personal life. It's weird to think he does.

I agree with Matt, Petros is very articulate. However, he is waaaaay too into himself to expect listeners to care. This is not Howard Stern with a long history of being into himself with a following to boot. I cannot take more than a few minutes at a time of him. It's great when he talks about the local sports beat and interviews local people. However, only a few people can get away with being into themselves so much. This seems to overshadow the rest of the show.

I agree with Markal- 1540 is a lame duck- Dave Smith has never been right on anything but gets around it by changing sides the next day. The two live Stus are as if I were listening to the Aflac duck for two hours. Get out of there Petros
even if I have to increase my tips at your dads restaurant. My suggestion to 1540 try Country and Western music.

Petros take 1540 and Sporting News Radio for all the money you can get or better yet switch to 710 because you are too good a talent! Petros is the best thing going on 1540 (especially now that Dave Smith has been banished to National Radio in the middle of the day where many people can no longer hear him) and that 1540 is no longer the home of SC Football. If Petros leaves they will have lost another listener. (Now that they carry Notre Dame games, why dont't they carry Sacramento Kings and SF Giants games so they can really get the support of the So Cal audience?)

1540 "was" a great local sports talk channel, but has gone down hill quickly. While Rodger Lodge was no great loss, Tony Bruno has been a worthless no talent and why this guy keeps getting jobs is beyond me. He hates LA sports, he brings nothing to the table, and the only people that think he is funny are Tony Bruno, Mark Willard and the 1540 execs.

And the while I appreciate the Two Live Stooges insight of Arena and Georgia Tech Football and the ATL rap scene, why are they on 1540 in LA? Alright, Alright Alright? At least Fred (Homer) Rogan knew LA sports and had great guests.

More Petros, more the Don, more movie reviews, more Lance Romance, more Whittier Wiz interviews, more Pennisula High School Football updates and less 1540 execs continuing to screw up what used to be one of the only decent local radio stations.

Is he still young enough to join the Marines? We still need a few good men down range here in Iraq. We don't need his radio skills, just his size to knock down some doors.

Ever since P Daddy moved from 12:00 pm, to 4:00 the station hasn't been the the 2 love boobs, errr stews, suck, and all I ever hear Bruno do is laugh at his own humor. if we can get Petros on at 12:00 to 3:00 on 710, we'd be set!
Carlos...

are there any updates on his status? The radio webpage still has him on so whats the deal. If he comes back will it be only for a few weeks like Fred?

Well, it's Monday and no Petros. I'd hate to say it, but I think the P is out. I'll still listen to Chris Russell on the weekends on Sporting News Radio, but 1540 has just lost another listener. The Local Dave Smith was cool, but national Dave sucks. All Bruno and Willard do is laugh at each other. The Stews and Todd Wright suck, and David Stein is wicked BORIN!!

Radio without The P is like the 80's without Reagan.

1. Great Sports Talk !
2. Look Good Nekkid !
3. Make Love Like a Lumberjack !

Dear Roger Nadel and 1540 management:

You smoke crack, dontcha? Dontcha??!! Answer me!

Sincerely,
Principal Joe Clark

Wolfie, tell Petros that We want the P! We want the P!!
