Point Of Emphasis
Pete Carroll said Sunday night that tailback Chauncey Washington's fumbles will be a talking point this week.
``We’ll be real hard on him,’’ Carroll said. ``We’ll address ball security. When you’re the lead back, you have to be the best at it.’’

Obviously.
CW's liability with the ball is not worth his limited upside. We need to replace him in the starting lineup if he continues his fumbling ways. Don't get me wrong, seems like a great kid, but without those 2 fumbles in OSU territory, we win that game.
What I would like to see is some of the pups in there.
I read the practice reports and it seems that Bradford, Gable, and Moody get a lot of reps in practice. But they really are not getting the reps in the games.
Obviously there is not enough carries for all of those guys, but I'd love to see Bradford get the ball 20 times in a game. I think he is the Thunder Back we have missed since LenDale left.
I was watching some Trojan Rewind replays from last year and geez, LenDale was tough to bring down.
Anyways, Fight On and Beat Stanford
I don't know about the pups, fumblitis seems to be contagious when it starts going bad and I'd hate to see the young pups catch it this early in the careers and lose future playing time. Leadership would start with Cdub and holding on to the ball
I can't see hitching the wagon to CW for the long haul, we won't see the promise land. Better going with electric Moody and a fumble than three yds and cloud of dust and a fumble. Let the young studs run to daylight.
It is Cary Harris (#7) that is letting USC down in playing corner. Passes are completed in his area all day. The linebackers take out the short pass, but passes between the linebackers and the corners are completed with ease. I'm sure offensive coordinators are aware of this. I'm also sure he's probably the best man USC has for that position.
Is Stafon Johnson still on the team???
chauncey gets a "code red" and a dutch rub !! .. then on to "burn the trees" and their treehugging friends.........!!
I think that C Dubs fumbles must be adressed but he is a tough runner. He rumbled thru with good tough yards and one us the ASU game. The main thing is that we as fans need to be upbeat w/ the team..I think Pete needs to show a little more emotion than the always up beat Pete. He needs to unleash a little on both the D and the O.
I'm just guessing, but I think the affable Pete we see on TV is not the same guy they see in the lockeroom, esp. after a slow 1st half or a loss. Either that, or he lets the other coaches do the yelling.
Turnovers, and not getting them from the other side, are a pet peeve of his. I gotta believe he rains some fire down on them for that....
My big concern is: why have special teams been such a sore spot for the last 3-4 years? Do we have a coach for that, or what??
We don't have a true special teams coach it is a grad assistant, Sam Anno.
PC tried to hire in Al Everest over the summer. He has been special teams' coach of the year in the NFL with Tampa Bay. Don't know what year specifically. Anyway, he had to register as a grad student to be able to coach. I have no idea why..anyway, he couldn't enroll in time so he moved on. He did work with PC and the team a little. And we do have starters on the special team coverage. So I don't have any idea what else to do to fix this problem....
I agree, I think the world of Chauncey but it's time to try someone else. He isn't going to get those 40 yard breakaways, more like 4.
Moody and Gable do get carries in practice and they've been known to make bad decisions and drop the ball more a few more times than the coaches are comfortable with. Chauncey does as well but I'm guessing less than the others.
Speaking of which; maybe I should watch more highlight tape so I can wash it out of my head but I do recall LenDale fumbling on occasion. Reggie made on-field mistakes (goal line turnover anyone?) and actually had runs under 10 yards. Maybe all video was hidden under their Heisman trophies but I think Leinart and Palmer may have thrown a few INT's in their day.
And *gasp* none of our beloved Heisman winners went through their entire college careers without knowing defeat.
I mis Norm.
I miss 50 point blowouts.
I miss Thunder and Lightning.
I remember that nobody's perfect.
