Thanks For The Heads Up

Now we know why Fox Sports hired former Wisconsin coach Barry Alvarez as an analyst. From today's show on the BCS rankings regarding USC:
``They’re playing four quarter games now,'' Alvarez said. ``They’re a little more exposed than they’ve been.''

He ought to know, Barry's teams were known for playing 9 games a year and not playing the last three

Here's a comment from former Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz:

"USC looks like a team teetering on the edge. What would scare me to death as a coach is that they have no rhythm on offense, they don't have anyone making big plays, and they're playing not to lose. They are not going to go undefeated, because they have teams left on the schedule that are much better than the ones they've barely been beating."

It's hard to argue with Holtz. But he is letting his bias do some of his speaking: he always has negative things to say about the Trojans. Well, if we lose a few so be it. But hopefully we can say when it's over: "Lou you were close on some counts, but we still spanked your Irish."
