Booty Watch

USC coach Pete Carroll said Sunday night that quarterback John David Booty's ankle will ``be all right'' after he hurt it against Notre Dame.
Carroll took exception to comments on the game broadcast that Booty was shaken up following the ankle injury.
``I don’t think there’s any way he’s rattled,’’ Carroll said. ``He does not carry things around or let (critics) load up on him.’’

After the incident, 0 for 5, plus 2 picks. No, he wasn't rattled. Thank goodness for the recovery. Could have been a long night.

of course the coaches are going to back their starter. but to many passes are being batted down. with our O-line the qb needs to be mobile so he can drop back quickly to get depth in the pocket and be a threat to run on the play action rollouts.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
