Did You Know . . .
That freshman C.J. Gable leads the Pac-10 in kick returns, averaging 27.17 yards per return. He is also ranked 14th nationally. Ironic, since last week, USC coach Pete Carroll said he did not realize how effective the Trojans were on kick returns until he saw the stats.

Yeah - maybe Coach Pete hasn't realized how effective it would be to use more decoy plays on offense by utlizing tight ends as receivers.
I dont think anyone recognized how effective until looking at those stats. I get the similar impression from JDB!
How about having him return punts, too? Patrick Turner makes me nervous.....
I was wondering why they didn't have Gable returning kicks last week. I thought he must be injured but he got in there for the TD run.
I really like Gable as a TB. He has surer hands than Moody (no fumblitis here) and he probably hits the hole more directly and harder than any frosh TB USC has. Moody for all his flash and elusiveness dances far too much. I do think that Gable might be the fastest back as well. ( He reminds me a lot of Herschel Dennis. On those endzone sweeps and toss plays he is almost uncatchable. Student body right all day against Cal.
I think Cindy has a good idea he should return punts.....
I hope Gable isn't too much like Mr. I'm going to improve my draft status.
He was the one who fumbled on the goal line against Cal three years back.
