F-Bombs Away!

| | Comments (31) |

I talked to Pete Carroll alone after the game about a now infamous episode during the game, when he unleashed ``F--- you'' three times after the officials reversed a call and allowed a touchdown. It appeared he was looking toward the Oregon sideline but Carroll said it was directed at no one in particular.
``That was really out of line to be yapping like that,'' Carroll said. ``There's no excuse for it.''

Scott, seriously dude....

Why not just come out of the closet, you will be a happier man and your writing will be unencumbered and get even better without this kind of stuff.

Where the hell did you get that from, Scott???

Nice reporting...

uhhh scott... plz stop trying to degrade people/ aka instigate rumors. thanks

After the call reversal that took a half hour of everyone's life, those were well deserved F-Bombs that Pete Carroll gave to Oregon Coach Mike "Cry Baby" Belotti.
The Official may have been near Carroll but I saw on TV Carroll was looking directly across the field to the Oregon sideline.
Carroll, normally the class act, hugs his counterpart after the game ends. This time he gave a 1 second handshake to "Cry Baby" Belotti.
SOME WELL DESERVED F-Bombs!
Don't feel sorry for them PC.

WE ARE GOING TO DESTROY CAL NEXT WEEK!
FIGHT ON TROJANS!

glad Coach Carroll realizes it was out of line...

Let's hope he'll walk the walk next time he gets frustrated...

He was almost as angry at that point as he was in the second quarter, when he was screaming into his headset after Lendale, I mean Chauncey Washington, ran it up the middle on fourth and one for no gain.

USCBRED said:

The refs deserved it. They were an abomination.

Irish4USC said:

Sure Scott, you should make a big deal out of that...let's pretend that it's not a high energy testosterone filled game and let's put dresses on the players and clean up the sport....

USC_89 said:

So, Pete, what is your excuse for Lane Kiffin?

Jeff said:

Everyone knows the f-bombs were directed at Bolotti, and I thought it was great! He should have droped a few more when they were calling time outs and going for a touchdown with seconds left against the 2nd/3rd string D. I understand they were trying to cover up the score, but unless there's some new play worth 25 points, have a little class and take a knee.

david said:

I maybe wrong but it looked to me like PC was yelling at an angle looking down the field to his right. Didn't seem to me that he was looking across the field at Oregon as his line of site was not at that distance or angle.
I thought he was giving it to the Officials as did everyone around me watching the Game.
Not to gut half of your argument but it's clear you through that in to spice-up the story. I'd enjoy your reporting more if you would stop doing that. You don't need to go there. Your better than that.

F-Bombs?? I need to know whether that play is set-up with 3 or 4 receivers? Just like a hail-mary right? Nice!

Karl

That is why we have the best coach in America.

We win and lose with class.

What a pathetic display by all of you.

We own you!

I would like to take this oppotunity to grade the Daily News writers including and Mr Wolf's performance (ala his Monday reviews).

First, it appears that Mr Wolf did not get the lead article about Saturday night's game. Who is Paul Oberjuerge? All I see from you are some USC notes back on page 6. Paul did not discuss the reversal of the reversal fiasco and did a poor job of summarizing the game. He gets a C since this his is first time as lead writer (probably a D using the Wolf grading system). Have you been benched by LA Daily News mgt? Steve Dilbeck's article was upbeat and a good read as always. He gets an A- ( probably a B on the Wolf grading system). Now let's discuss Mr Wolf's USC Notes. Typicall negative tone - "empty seats" etc. How about discuss fantastic raucous but safe atmosphere (Scott you get a C but it would be a D on your grading system.

Although, I want an unbiased writer you seem to have many issues and problems with USC. Why not become the beat writer st UCLA. My good friend Lonnie is the beat writer for UCLA at the paper that consistently performs at a A-/B+ level. You are just plain pathetic.

Scott-those fyous were for Belotti, not the refs. Pete Carroll hates Belotti due to incident when he was hired. Belotti was offered USC job first and rubbed that in Carrolls face at Pac 10 coaches meeting that year. HE is not liked by many coaches including Pat Hill and his snobby attitude towards other coaches ensures that.
This is the one coach that you will never have to worry about PC getting his team up for. Did you see the handshake at midfield after the game?

Those f bombs were at Belotti and no one else.

i think oregon brings the refs with them .......those boys need to be run out of town on a rail and ncaa with them .....!!!

The funny thing is that Jose Mourinho does that all the time, but no one seems to notice since his lips move so darn slowly.

I guess only "special" coaches are prone to this behavior.

FightOnNYC said:

It was soooo directed at Belotti, as confirmed by how PC barely said a word to him while they shook hands after the game.

Pete will be dropping some more F Bombs on those weak Kal kommies this coming week!!

Go Trojans!

I think ultimately the right call was made - but it was such a buzzkill at the game. Replay officials should have noticed the tip the first review. Terrible replay officiating this year in the pac-10. Wonder if they'll just scrap it.

Right ... "no one in particular" unless you were standing across the field on the Oregon sideline as head coach of the Ducks and you previously declined an offer to become head coach at USC.

Actually, Carroll didn't have to utter a word to get his point across. USC kept passing the ball and left its first-team offense in the game for an extra series even after we scored quickly following Oregon's review of the review.

And on the Ducks' 4th down play inside our five at the end of the game, we blitzed the hell out of Ryan Leaf's little brother. That's coaching speak for "f**k you."

Felipe said:

Was it any wonder why Carroll didn't hug Belotti in the end, instead giving him a 1 second handshake?

I don't blame Coach Pete Carroll for losing his cool, THAT WAS THE WORST CALL I HAVE EVER SEEN MADE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL!

So lets give a hand to the officials. For making themselves look like complete idiots by reversing their own CORRECT decision.

cindy said:

I don't blame him one bit for being upset.. I was not aware you could call for a review of an already reviewed play that had been ruled on.

gillyking said:

All of that..and actually the refs got the call right when they initially overturned the TD. The first receiver, was OB before the ball was tipped, as was the one that ended up catching it. So both Duck receivers were inelligible to participate in the final yardage gain on that play. The score should have been 35-3. Regardless, the Trojans came to play and were it not for a number of stupid play calls from Kiffin, we'd have dominated them even more. Kiffin's (waterloo,) a 4th and short was one horrendus call and that ill advised stupid trick play where DJ throws off balance into triple coverage was not only botched by DJ's poor decision to pass it, but why call that play in that situation anyway?

Well Bruinshuffle11, you definitely lose with class. You'd have to win before we'll know how classy you are when you do that.

RC4SC said:

Bruinshufflell...FU(cla)! Since you're so classy, why don't you try writing little encouraging, fluffy, love sonets to other touchy-feely bruins who have no business fielding a football team. Football is a man's game. Secular progressives need not apply. Let the F-bombs fly!

It's nice to see the gentleman of the Pac 10, Pete Carroll rock and roll and let some f-bombs fly to that scum of a F-bomb Bellllllotttttiiiiii. What a tool.

I thought PC leaving the first team offense after that fiasco that wasted a full 15 minutes of additional jack and diet time as we waited and waited for the pathetic zebra's to make up their mind was a classic display of f-u coaching.

In terms of Pac 10 officiating - We take a step forward and take a step back and now we do the cha cha cha. Are the Pac 10 refs the worst in the world... in football AND basketball? I mean, it's bad enough we have to deal with continued incompetence of our basketball refs never letting anyone play and embarrassing our teams on the national stage whenever anyone from the ACC comes to play - but in football we should demand a higher level of excellence.

Do you remeber your comment about Rey Maualuga? "He beats on white frat boys".

THE REAL PH55:
Scott, This is why I asked a few posts ago to have the other guy who is using PH55 to stop using it. I am the one who made the Maualuga comments but I am in support of Coach Carroll here. He probably could have used a better choice of language but I certainly would have been just as upset. Nice of the people on Fox to keep the camera on him too.

I have been using this moniker since game #1 and now someone else can just go on and read it.

Mike Bellotti is an idiot because he knew the game was over and just wanted to try to irritate Coach Carroll has totally dominated him, even almost beating him in 01. (The one Norm Chow blew for all of you complainers.) And by the way Mike, you look more like a coach with the mustache.

AND TO BRUINSHUFFLE11:
At least our coach knows how to speak in public. Can't wait for Karl's big game meltdown again in a couple of weeks.
