Scott, enjoyed your article today re Pac 10 coach's assessment of USC's defense. By elimination the quoted coach is not from-SC, their 4 opponents, Stan or OSU (mentioned by coach). That leaves ASU (not a defensive coach), Stoops = maybe, but it's probably Doba (thinks SC probably has best personnel, )

How about a confirmation. Keep up the inside stuff.

That would be awesome but maybe next year after he has a little more experience...

IT is Ty Willingham

Imagine if Sanchez was starting! He would probably be a shoe-in to win the little statue!!!

Who supplied the comments for the recent story? Think about it, who would have watched the Oregon St. tape? Walt Harris (in preping for the USC game) or Dirk Koetter in preping for the Beavers? Probably not Dorrell who faces the Beavs this week.

My guess is Harris who has also faced Notre Dame and might be a little more open because they have nothing to lose this year (other than 3 more games).

Nice report Scott.

JDB has got a great shot next year for HT; I like that he is getting a look now, setting his campaign up for next year. We all know it takes some exposure to win the trophy, lets get started now JD.

Huh? Must be all of those dead on perfect passes hitting wide open receivers in perfect stride behind the enemy secondaries all season long. You know the ones I'm talking about...don't you?

Well, maybe it will just plant the seed for next year.

Does anyone think Hawaii's Colt Brennan will get any love?

There's the time zone thing and arguement that Hawaii's offense builds QB stats but I see that as kind of silly.

Stranger things have happened. Remember Carson Palmer's Heisman year? Halfway through the season he was on no one's watch list. then SC got hot and he did too. Not saying Booty can or should win, but if he gets hot and SC wins out, consider that SC plays last four games against top competition on national TV, including two marquee games (ND and UCLA) on ABC with no other games opposite. And both of those games will be played after Ohio State's season is over. If Troy struggles against Michigan, and SC humiliates ND and Brady Q, who's left?

If Booty catches fire in the last 4 games and USC finishes the season the way they did in 2002 he can get that invite.

By on fire though I mean that he has to throw 3-4 tds in every game for 300+ yds, no ints and USC must win all 4 games convincingly. Like 42 to 13 type scores. If that happens don't be surprised if he goes to NY. Remember beat ND and you're on the radar. Carson lost 2 games and won. If Booty throws 3 tds in each of the next 4 he will have 31 tds - now that is Heisman material. No way he wins though. Not in his first year. Unless he goes crazy that is and tosses 5-6 TDS a game. 6tds against ND and he's probably going to NY if USC wins out.

It could just be that USC's last two quarterbacks won the Heisman.

Not this year for JD.

Although I liked JD's performance since the 4th qtr of Oregon State game. In the Stanford game he was very animated. He is no longer locking into 1 WR. He is showing good play action and fakes. He looked great on the rollouts. This kid could have potential.

JDB is in Heisman contention (sure) and next year may not even win the starting job. Stranger things have happened.

The only coach Scott has quoted with ID this year is Willingham regarding Stafon Johnson, because Scott wants to say "I reported that" if/when Stafon transfers to U-Dub.
