My Bad
USC offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin blamed himself for John David Booty's second interception to defensive tackle Trevor Laws.
``I called down to the field to talk to Booty on the phone, which I don’t do often, and I said the second interception was my fault because it was a bad call,’’ Kiffin said. ``We needed him and he came back and played well.’’

Lane's fault? It's nice of him to take the blame on that play which was falling apart, but JDB looked completely out of wack towards the end of the second quarter. I thought I saw him getting up pretty slow after taking a shot on the drive that ended in the blocked punt. Anyone heard anything about that?
new format... hmmm not sure.. I'm sure I'll get used to it
and Kiffin Making a bad call..
I don't believe it
is this the first time Kiffin has blamed himself for a bad call???????????????
Good psychology by Kif.
As a USC fan I am very pleased with this years team, and the remarkable results given the schedule, and loss of players from 05. However, Lame Kiffen continues to surprise and baffel me. Throwing out of the endzone 3 times in ND's terrotory(2nd QTR)!!! Everyone knows u run it in those situations. I understand ND was bringing heavy pressure, but thats what screen passes are for!!! No screens up the middle!!! Lame!
I think this team is great with exceptional talent, but they have not put a complete game together with solid offensive play calling. Hopefully, Lame figures it out before Ohio State. Lame could f-up the trojans championship hopes just like the 05 Rose Bowl, on 4th & 1 no Reggie Bush WTF. I still cant let him off the hook, because last years team should have a 3rd championship.
Booty fell awkwardly, completely on his own, and was a bit shaken up. I believe that was right before the blocked punt.
The 1st INT was a terrible pass and decision by Booty, but the 2nd INT wasn't too bad of a pass... Davis needed to come back and fight for that ball. The ND defender made a heckuva play.
Lame Lane,..I was eating my words in the 1st quarter,..then LAME LANE struck!,..Geez what an ugly set of downs when we recovered the fumble!,.. 3 and out,..then the blocked punt,.. Lame Lane,..yep struck again!,... He must be taking that propranolol they had on 60 minutes,..isn't learning from HIS mistakes during stressful times!...
Whatever happened to the fullback/running back wheel route?..
2 more to go..
Fight On!...

So which is it, run the screen or not?
SC Fans: Give it a rest. We dropped 44 on the Irish and I'm willing to bet Lane Kiffin (notice its "in" not "en") knows more about football than any of you will ever know.
Interesting comments on the play calling of Lane Kiffen of USC.

What Iam talkiing about is running a screen pass up the middle with a short quarterback who has been known to have passes deflected. LAME CALL!! Screen passes should be thrown out in the flats left or right of hash marks. Screens should have been thrown to DJ or P. Turner or a Half back in the flats.
Also, SC got lucky on that on-side kick return. They still win by two towndowns, but closer margin, if not for B Cushing making a heads up play like he did.
