NFL Talk
Despite the constant drumbeat the past few weeks, mainly from Phoenix sports-talk radio, USC coach Pete Carroll scoffs at speculation he is interested in becoming the Arizona Cardinals coach/general manager next season.
Wednesday night, Carroll dismissed the rumors, just as he did about a month ago. It's probably not going to go away, however, as long as the Cardinals struggle and there is a need to figure out a possible successor to Dennis Green.

They just beat the Lions and played some good defense for once.

Why go and make $5M per year and be miserable dealing with pro *ss*oles when you can have fun making $4M. Pete is a bigger legend as a USC coach then he would be as a AZ 48-48 coach/GM making the playoffs two times before they run him out of town for going 7-9.
At USC Carroll can be here for the next 20 years and LITERALLY rewrite every college football history book (most NCs, most Heismans coached, highest winning %, Longest consecutive home road streak, most consecutive BCS games, etc.).
Name me ANY of the Cardinals NFL coach from the 1970s (one you may get - Don Coryell). There were five. Ok, now name me all of the coaches from the 1970s for USC, Notre Dame, Penn State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio St., and Michigan. Pete will be in that company. Get it? He will be a LEGEND and get paid almost the same with new challeneges evey year.
