Notre Dame Vs. Michigan In Rose Bowl?

That could be the current scenario if USC plays Ohio State in the BCS championship. Here's how the process works Sunday, described by BCS coordinator Mike Slive.
``If we take the current standings, and Ohio State and Southern Cal are in the game,'' Slive said. ``Then what would happen would be that the Big 12 Champion would go to the Fiesta Bowl and the ACC champion would go to the Orange Bowl and the SEC champion would go to the Sugar Bowl and then the Rose Bowl would get the first two picks because we would need to replace the champions from the two leagues that participate in the Rose Bowl.''

If ND gets a BCS bid, which they shouldn't, I'd like to see them play the SEC team... at least it'd be a new matchup. Also if Florida pulls off the stunner and beats Arkansas maybe the SEC champ would lose to ND!

Wow, that would be boring, ANOTHER blowout with notre dame as the victim. I hope they stick LSU with Michigan in the Rose Bowl, I would LOVE to see that matchup.

Rose Bowl officials have reportedly been down on the idea of a Notre Dame-Michigan rematch. Today's Boston Globe reported that the Rose is eyeing LSU as an opponent for Michigan should the Wolverines finish the season outside the BCS top two.

Duh. Why dont you tell us something we dont know.

ND shouldn't be in anything that doesn't have Poulan Weedeater in front of it

I'm guessing the SEC runner up or LSU has to look more exciting to the Rose Bowl than a rematch no one wants to see. Any of the SEC teams would travel as well as ND, if not better since ND plays in LA every other year.

I think the Rose Bowl will take Michigan (keep it traditional) and LSU (if Arkansas wins SEC.) There are a lot of Louisiana connections in socal and it would provide a rare Big 10/SEC matchup.

Then we can laugh at the SEC as two of their top 2 teams will have lost to two of the top teams in the Pac 10 and Big 10.

And that leave Arkansas vs. Notre Dame in Sugar Bowl.

Having Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl just does not sound quite right.....

Wow! Michigan v. Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl! That would really be something special. Oh wait a minute, we already saw that AT NOTRE DAME, where Michigan crushed an overmatched Notre Dame 47 -21 (in a game that was not even as close as the final score).

It is kind of funny how prior to USC's demolition of Cal and Notre Dame many experts and fans were talking about how they DID NOT want to see a rematch of Michigan v. Ohio State, a great game , b/c sequels don't live up to the original, but a rematch of Michigan v. Notre Dame, a horrible game, would be great for the Rose Bowl.

If USC lost to UCLA (this is hypothetical b/c they are not going to), would anyone really want to see a rematch of USC v. Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl (if Michigan were to plau Ohio State again)? Didn't think so.

Notre Dame beats the teams they are supposed to beat, but gets outclassed when it plays teams with better athletes like Ohio State, USC and Michigan.

Best scenerio under current standings is that LSU goes instead of ND. Nobody wants to see ND Michigan again!!

I think that the rematch scenario would deter that from happening. I like a Michigan vs. LSU matchup better.

It will be LSU vs. Michigan/ USC

I think it's gonna be LSU versus Michigan.

Michigan and LSU or Florida. ND lost 2! They are not deserving of a prime bowl. All this is assuming we get past the pesky Bruins. Go Trojans! Beat the Bruins!

The only thing that would console me if (and it won't happen) USC loses to UCLA is knowing that the Trojans get to finally play the Tigers after all their whining a few years back. I dislike the SEC and love it when we beat their teams. When was the last time USC lost to a SEC team?
