Post-Game Issues
Cal surprised USC by putting its top cornerback Daymeion Hughes on Steve Smith instead of Dwayne Jarrett.
``We didn't think they would do that,'' offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin said.
It would not be surprising if Notre Dame and UCLA tried a similar strategy.
One thing that frustrated the Trojans was four false starts, two of which were on wide receivers.
``It's very unusual for us, we've had issues on the road but not at home,'' Kiffin said. ``Patrick Turner said he had no idea what he did. Plus there were two on Kyle Williams. We need to fix it.''

The call on Patrick Turner was a phanton call. He did nothing at all. Check the replays.
check out the replay on patrick ...there is no movement what so ever.....bad call again by the refs trying to change the outcome of the game... bad news!!!
You have to kind of wonder... What if in a rematch, Michigan wins over OSU? Who says that UM has to be crowned BCS champion? Why wouldn't OSU still be rated #1 (which is probably based on the latest computer rankings) and thereby be the National Champion? It's a no lose proposition that the folks clamoring for a rematch aren't taking into consideration. There could potentially be 5 one-loss teams plus an undefeated Boise State all legitimately laying claim on their own version of mythical national champion. I'd personally love to see that quagmire come to fruition.
Steve - come on, let's acknowledge the possibility that it was a bad call and the refs WEREN'T trying to change the outcome of the game. I mean, really, that's quite a statement on your part.
I drank plenty beer watching the CAL game but I was the first to jump up and yell at the tube when Patrick Turner got called for a phantom false start. No one at the line of scrimmage moved. CHECK THE DAMN REPLAY!
1. Pac-10 refs are just making bad calls all the way around this year.
2. I don't think starting off an arguement saying "I drank plenty of beer" gives you more credibility.
Kyle Williams seems to get a large number of the penalties on the O-line. He must get at least 85% of them. Anybody (Scott?) know the answer.
I thought the Ref said something about illegal shift or formation?
Kyle Williams is a f'ing 5th year senior and he's the most penalized guy on our team by far. That and he's the weakest link on this offensive line. You'd think he's be able to avoid getting TWO false starts at HOME. This is why we are nowhere near Ohio State's caliber. Those guys do not make false starts, illegal formations or any of that. We match up in talent but no way do we match up in execution.
