Weis Unplugged
Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis on quarterback Brady Quinn.
``He didn't get much help, a bunch of balls went off hands. He was far from perfect but join the club, I was far from perfect.''
Weis on the final stats.
``Stats are for losers. The bottom line is we moved the ball but didn't put it in the end zone.''

Stats are for losers? And your bad habit of listing statistics in response to questions is for...losers, apparently.
What a stubborn S.O.B. FAT CHARLIE WEASEL can be. Even in defeat (more like "spanked" if you ask me) he won't give SC any credit.
I hope this humbles you even more.
DONT EVER THINK ABOUT PULLING CRAP LIKE YOU DID LAST YEAR WITH THE GRASS.
You just figured out that maybe you are way over your head because you keep losing the big ones.
Continue beating cupcakes and we will see what happens in South Bend next year.
stats are for losers
charlie is for cheeseburgers
who cares SC Won ND lost and its now five and shooting for six
Stats can also be misleading. Quinn gets over 60-yards on a run, and it results in zero points. And yet it accounts for over 1/2 the rushing yards gained against SC, and distorts the fine job the defense did against the run. Also, punt returns and kickoff returns are not given their just due i.e. Desmond Reed's 42 yard return, and Brian Cushing's 42 yard return are not factored in towards the "total" yardage production.
"Stats are for losers....." so says Charlie. Then he can add this game to his soon to be increasing collection. Notre Dame proved last night that they do not belong in a BCS bowl game. Maybe they can get into the Weedwhackergmacinsight bowl or something of the sort.
Stats are for losers???
All he does is recite stats. Oh, I get it now.
Who else thought that Charlie was ordering a meatball sub and garlic bread on the sidelines? I swear that wasn't a play sheet. I saw Alejo's on the backside of it. ;)
It was hard for Brady Quinn to play well with his arm wrapped around his throat.
Did anyone besides me hear the Irish choking the whole night?
The result of Weis' over-preparing leading to over-confidence. Result: Nothing but nothing worked.
That is the difference with Pete Carroll's approach - one game at a time.
Fight on and let's run the table next week.
Charlie,
Guess what? Stats are for you!
I rewatched the game and McKnight did have two balls he dropped. One on a fourth down play where the USC lineman waved at the ball and considering it was a short pass could have effected Rema's foacus. But it was a drop. Also in the first half, Rema dropped a 3rd down pass when Taylor mays was about to lower the boom -- but Rema jugglee and dropped.
in the second half, Notre Dames recieving corps could only be credited with one drop.
3 drops for the whole game? I think the TV commentators and Weis are putting too much emphasis on the drops as a reason for the results of the game.
Point is, if you want to beat the Trojans at this point, you gotta play just about near perfect ball and force USC to make the mistakes.
