Hey, does anybody have any YouTube footage of Dipsh*t Trojan watching the UCLA game on the east coast? That would be priceless.

Nice Scott. I make a crack to Theresa about Men's Water Polo and you start posting links to youtube! Why don't you start breaking down the Heisman or the freaking Rose Bowl.

Who cares. SC could lose the next 100 water polo finals in exactly the same fashion and I wouldn't be bothered one bit. The only college sports that matter are football, men's hoops, and the college world series.

I wonder if USC had won the match, would you have mentioned it on your blog.
If yes, then I have no problem with the post. However, I would bet that you wouldn't have said anything if SC won. Why all the hate and negativity?
I don't get it.

Reminds me of the Duke vs. Kentucky game when Latner hit the game winner with no time left on the clock.
Why didn't they mark the inbound pass?
By the way Scott, the USC men's team did win the NCAA championships last year.

seriously, how about some positive posts from an USC alum... scott?

That's an interesting point-of-view, Frank, especially since the women's hoops tournament is watched by many more people than the College World Series.
I don't know if you're an alumnus or not. I am, and I can tell you that I take pride in the accomplishments of the students and athletes who represent my alma mater, whether it's in football, water polo or by being the first person to walk on the moon. It's good for them, and it's good for the university. I'm sorry that there are people like you who are so narrow-minded that they are incapable of feeling the same way.

Don't worry Scott, somebody will get it!
(....tipped ball _ get it?)

Sad. But funny ...

Great, I am being called out by some guy (tim) who probably found out that the USC Men's Water Polo team played for the national title this past Saturday after he saw this youtube clip.
I don't follow Men's Water Polo and I don't know a thing about the sport. Consequntly, I don't care if they win the national champiosnhips nor do I care if they lose every game. It has nothing to do with pride. I'm just being honest. I don't want them to lose and I obviously want the best for USC in all its endeavors.
I, however, am not going to cheapen an SC Water Polo National Champsionship by wearing a Water Polo National Title shirt for a sport I didn't attend a single match, nor did I even know what time of year the sport is played.
Since I am not going to celebrate something I know nothing about, I am not going to get down about it, let alone include it as another addition to last weekend's "debacle."
For example, I am sure there was a USC student who failed a final this week. Am I supposed to get down about that too? I also guarantee you that there was another student who aced a final. Am I supposed to go crazy about that? There are friends and family members who care about these students' grades. Just like there are friends and family memebrs who follow the Men's Water Polo Team. But I am not one of those people. I am not going to claim that I care based soley on the fact that they represent USC. I only care about things I know and follow (the aforementioned football, men's hoops, and the college world series).
But tim, just because I don't care DOES NOT mean that I want them to fail or lose.
There is only enough time in my life to care about certain USC sports. Thus, the other sports get pushed to the side. I relize that water polo is important to some people, but I am not one of those people. And neither are you nor are the majority of USC students/alumni. It is not a question of pride, it is a question of honesty.
I am still trying to understand how you can equate walking on the moon to the water polo? I'll address that at a later date......

Water Polo players do get the chicks, regardless of winning.....

Here is what I don't get...
Scott covers USC, however, it would seem he has the same bias toward SC, as say, the New York Times toward the Bush Administration!
Go cover the evil-doers of Westwood...leave the ivy covered walls of SC for the fruitcakes of Westwood!

S - - - happens!

Wolf...I'm assuming that since you've been covering USC athletics for over 10 years, you probably understand what the word "debacle" actually means.
Just in case you don't, however, here's how Webster defines it: "A sudden, calamitous downfall, collapse, or failure."
I'll go ahead and also assume that you actually watched the match.
Just in case you didn't, however, let me sum it up. The loss to Cal was no debacle. SC started off dominating the Bears in the first half, allowed them to come back in the second half, then engineered a miraculous comeback to tie the game (with some help from the ejection of Cal's leading scorer and coach). Unfortunately, Cal had one more miracle than we did on that day and somehow got a shot off within milliseconds of the buzzer.
Sudden, yes. But hardly calamitous and hardly a failure.
Just hard luck.
Cheer up once in a while! Or, if you enjoy being Mr. Negative, at least get it right!

I'm intriqued that no one was interested in the original post to mention something about it. Why wasn't the story in the times or the other local papers. CBS has to discover the story. I smell cover up. Any further info on the Trojan who lost his eye to a bunch of scumbag bruins?
