Dude, I Lost My Award, Part II
Here's the official description of the UCLA game award, which is named after a Trojan legend.
THE MARV GOUX AWARD
Awarded annually to the varsity football team member chosen by the team
as having contributed the most during the USC-UCLA game of that season.
The trophy is an actual sized gold football donated annually by Rolland
Curtis.
This award for the UCLA game was first given out in 1952. From 1978 to 1992 it was given to an offensive and defensive player.
Here's a list of past winners who earned the award in defeat:
Mike Garrett
Ricky Bell
Keith Van Horne
Ronnie Lott
Joey Browner
Jack Del Rio
Rodney Peete
Keyshawn Johnson

you make it seem like somoone should have been rewarded for a pathetic performance.
GET OVER IT WOLFIE, we all have!
they should award it. It's a tradition and its time to get over the loss people. Yeah it sucks but come on. Sure the team has problems but lets stop blaming everyone and see what this team can do against Michigan. And all you fools who think we are gonna lose by 20+ points I wish I knew you because I'd bet my house against you.
Thats because the game didnt happen. Right?
anyone get the feeling that Mr. Wolf would rather talk about the issue than gather facts as to why no award was announced? As a Trojan fan, it concerns me no award was given, but I would like to hear Pete Carrolls thoughts on the issue rather than have Mr. Wolf just reflect it in a negative light. Are you a reporter or a columnist? I know this is a blog so maybe you don't feel any responsibility in your reporting?
