According to several sources, UCLA players got so fired up because of comments directed at them by linebackers coach Ken Norton during pre-game warmups, they discussed the taunts in a huddle before the game for extra motivation.

I can understand a player talking smack but a coach? Is Norton even that great of a coach?
I don't buy that. Norton may not like UCLA for turning him away but he's got more class than to taunt.
Norton just has a beef because he knows that Reggie Carter is going to be better than he was.
I once read that Coach Norton said:
"You're a Bruin for four years but a Trojan for life"

If you have to even ask the question you probably don't belong here and know nothing about USC. Norton is one of USC's best coaches and a consistently great recruiter. The guy brings the intensity to practice everyday and probably relates to the young players better than anyone else on the staff - especially on the player to player level.
