O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Not one of the worst movies ever, but one of the worst Heisman votes ever.
According to the Hartford Courant, former USC quarterback Carson Palmer voted for his brother, Jordan, to win the award.
``I voted for my brother [UTEP QB Jordan Palmer], [the winner] Troy Smith and Darren McFadden,'' Palmer said. ``In that order. [Jordan] was a long shot.''

To see Scott call someone else's vote "the worst ever" must bring a smile to the face of both your readers...

Pot. Kettle. Black.

both fans?...typical response from someone who doesn't understand how many hits Scott's blog gets on a daily basis...

i agree, Scott Wolfe reporting this is like Michael Jackson reporting on day care abuse.

along the same topic, of the 900 or so votes, how many do you think are ridiculous just like this. Carson, of all people you should take this award more seriously as a past winner than making a mockery of it

No, not one of the worst votes ever. Everyone knew Smith would win and Carson voted responsibly with his second and third place votes so it didn't affect the final overall rank order at all.

Anyone who voted for Brad Banks (where is he now) ahead of Carson or Larry Johnson in 2002 would qualify as the worst vote ever.

I heard that Carson also voted West Virginia #1.

Oh wait, that was you.

Two words:

Gary Beban

When you win the Heisman Trophy you can do whatever you want to do with your vote. Carson has earned that right.

Sportswriters on the other hand are largely never held accountable for their actions and have not earned the right to be in that position to begin with.

Wasting a vote is not acceptable in this day and age.

Sincerely,
Ross Perot & Ralph Nader

Based on comments, looks like less than 20 hits a day. Sorry CH & Scott. Many of those may not be fans. "Both" might be closer than we think.

O Brother, Where Art Thou is a pretty good film. Scott, you're just an idiot.

and yet Larry....there are already 11 entries just on this topic alone....who cares about fans or not...go back and read what I wrote...maybe the English as a second language will pay off for you yet...

I'm sorry but if all the voters are "required" to vote for the same three guys and will be critiqued for not falling in line then what's the point in voting at all? The way I see it a voter can vote for any 3 players he wants. Tom Hoffarth ripped someone for voting for Jarrett? (Read as accused Arbogast indirectly because apparently Hoffarth's a little girl with a grudge he won't let go) Why not Jarrett? The dude played hurt most of the year and still has a shot at a 1000 yard season.

This whole need by writers to rip into the voting choices people make is stupid and childish. You vote for who you want let them vote for who they want. The person with the most votes should win not the person the sportswriters publicly pressure into winning.

I mean the system is already screwy anyways - no line players or defensive players
can win - so who really cares who Carson votes for.

Que Paso? Do the math, CH. 11 is less than 20. Let the numbers speak for themselves.
BTW, CH. Quantos visitas en un dia? Just so we know.
Adios.

Let's see........

Both your READERS...
CH wrote: "both fans?...typical response from someone who doesn't understand how many hits Scott's blog gets on a daily basis..."
Both FANS?

In the American education system, 'Readers' does not equal 'fans'.
Perhaps, where you are from ,CH, it does. Please enlighten us.

I'm sure scott could care less if you are a reader or a fan larry. It's just pathetic you take the time to post an ignorant comment, basing hits on number of posts. shows you are clueless about internet sites and how many hits they attract

Larry is another bitter fan that can't handle Scott's success very well...sorry the glass is half full attitude doesn't sell newspapers anymore...

Scott: I was a fan. Now just a reader. Why? Because you do not have the class or the huevos to not post personal attack posts. (Yes, I can handle any attack that comes my way. That isn't the point)I was under the impression this was a Trojan blog, not a forum for personal attacks on its readers and posters. I'm a Trojan supporter, and have been for over 45 years. I would hope you keep this blog above board and do not post the personal attacks. They are not needed, and certainly do not add to Trojan Football. Yes, I was guilty of responding. That was wrong and I apologize for stepping down to his level. Let's keep some class in this blog. As a point of information, I am sure you get hundreds of hits a day. Have a nice day.

Larry:

you can handle attacks and yet you STILL post a full paragraph taking the "high road" like most USC fans that can't handle the truth sometimes...Scott is not Wearesc or USCfootball.com and doesn't have to cowtow to the whims and wishes of fans...he has proven his mettle as a reporter time and time again and more than willing to put his name on the Internet compared to the fans (including myself) who use anonymous names to post behind...if you can't handle it, don't post and just read the blog like the thousands and thousands of fans...

by the way, do you email the Internet board administrators when they make personal attacks on any USC coaches and players?

You go Larry R, tell it like it is. If you don't like Scott’s Blog you are welcome to come over and join me on my classy Arbolog...get it, Arobast + Blog = Arbolog... thought of that gem myself! On the Arbolog there are no dirty mouths, and I will tell you all about dinner with my darling Girlfriend, as well as all of those cool (always in fashion) Hawaiian shirts that I received for Christmas. Stay classy Larry R.

Funny, Palmer was the best and most productive qb in the country this year - saw his games many times and he will make a nice pro. He is every bit as good a rex grossman.

Scott Wolf

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
