Small World
A week after former USC assistant coach and current UCLA defensive coordinator DeWayne Walker helped upset the Trojans, he and Pete Carroll ran into each other and shared small talk at the Mid-Valley Division championship game between Verbum Dei of Los Angeles and La Salle of Pasadena on Saturday night.

Comments
Helped the Bruins win? He won the game for the Bruins. Period. 13 points with 2 weeks practice is pathetic. 9 points with all that talent is even more pathetic. Dorrell should get no credit for this win. I'm shocked Walker doesn't have 100 other coaching offers already. The Bruins are going to luck out once again.

Dear Reel Bruin, Hermosa Bruin, and Brewz,
Please allow this letter to follow-up the Trojans’ recent and unfortunate birth in yet another Rose Bowl Game due to a loss to your pesky little Cubs last weekend. I will be seeking compensatory and punitive damages from all three of you as well as Coach Dorrell and Coach Walker to compensate for the annoyance you have caused me, my family and fellow Trojans Fans on Scott’s Blog. I will also be seeking reimbursement for any future penalties that I may incur for cancelling my first class plane tickets and Five Star Hotel reservation in Scottsdale, which I had booked in anticipation of a 4th straight National Championship Game (Like my team, I too had overlooked the Bruins).
However, I am reasonable person and I am amenable to a settlement to resolve this matter. Therefore, I propose either of the following solutions:
(1) As I would prefer not to go through that miserable experience of parking at Parsons again, and since you are going to the Emerald Bowl, if one of you would give me your parking pass to the Rose Bowl...you know since you won't be needing it for the Rose Bowl. (It just occurred to me that since UCLA only plays in the Rose Bowl during the regular season and not during the College Bowl season, you probably do not get a pass to the actual Rose Bowl Game...please correct me if I am wrong).
(2) If you do not have a parking passes, I am pretty sure that according to the employment statistics for UCLA Graduates ,between the three of you alleged Bruin Graduates, at least one of the three of you drives a taxi or limo (okay limo might be shooting a little too high). Therefore, I would be willing to resolve this matter in exchange for your services providing transportation to and from the Rose Bowl on January 1st. (You would be doing me a huge service, but more importantly you would be allowing my back-up driver, Miguelito, to spend New Year’s Day with his family.)
It goes with out saying that these offers are also contingent on the three of you no longer writing ridiculous, myopic and provoking posts on this Blog about how Dorrell is a genius and is on the verge of creating a dynasty at UCLA, the likes of which College Football and its fans have never seen before, simply because Dorrell beat USC...one time (and only time)...during a USC rebuilding year...after SC lost 11 players (which include 2 Hesiman winners) to the NFL... in a UCLA home game...after USC had played and beat Oregon, Cal, and Notre Dame (all ranked at the time) in a row...and when USC made the mistake of overlooking a mediocre UCLA team (with a scrappy D) because they were too focused on packing for the National Championship Game.
Please let me know at your earliest convenience if you are amenable to my proposed settlement offer. You can contact me or one of my associates, FDOG or JJH4USC, at any one of the posts on www.insidesocal.com/usc/.
Very truly yours,
ReelTrojan

Walker must have said, "You got SERVED!" Then they had a break dance fight.
IN PETE WE TRUST!!!

hahaha, when I read that Carroll went to this game, I was wondering how often stuff like that would happen. Except I was imagining Dorrell being there.
Dorrell: "Hey Coach"
Carroll: "...Hey."

Speaking of high school ball, I guess Aaron Corp had a great game last week end to help his team win the championship. Maybe he is even better than Mark Sanchez. Can't wait to see him in action wearing a Trojan uniform.

ReelTrojan (or is is RealTrojan?),
I'm not sure what's more pathetic - the fact that you can't figure out how to respond in the correct thread, or that you can't even figure out how to spell your own name (Reel/Real - which is it?).
Very creative post, though - even if you couldn't figure out where to post it or how to sign it. Not bad given your second-rate education (and don't give me your line about how your school has *almost* caught us in one academic ranking).
I hope you find a ride to see your team lose it's third consecutive game in OUR house - since it seems you can't afford a parking pass (but lucky for you, I hear the department stores hire special needs kids around the holidays).
Have fun getting beat by another team in blue and gold... you'll see it happening more and more in the coming years, now that your best coach is in the NFL coaching the guy who humiliated you in the Rose Bowl last year, and your two Heisman winners are busy getting outperformed by the best player in the Pac10 last year - Mr. Maurice Jones-Drew.
Brace yourself. The fall from the top is painful, and it continues 1/1/07.

He's not better than Sanchez, but most likely sometime during Sanchez' junior year you will be reading SC fans going crazy about how Corp should replace Sanchez because Corp is taller.

Dear Hermosa Bruin,
What's that? We couldn't hear you over the clinking of the National Championship and Heisman trophies we've garnered over the past few years. You'll have to speak louder.
Enjoy the city championship and Emerald Bowl appearance.

Hey Hermosa Bruin,
13-9 was a fluke.
Now 66-19 is a 1000 times more impressive a victory.
Get those streak thoughts out of your head because the bruins will never be overlooked again.
Enjoy the victory bell for one year!

2nd string QB, no gamebeakers on O, no playmakers at wideout, patch work Oline, a horrible offense, undersize defense, small dline, small dbs vs. Petey and a bunch of 5 star "Gods"......13-9! How does that happen at your "Home away from home?" I just don't get it! I'm looking forward to watching the "We should be playing for the BCS Championship but we choked against our rivals" Bowl!!!

Hermosa-adjacent Bruin,
Since my initial response to your retort does not appear to have been posted, please allow this correspondence to follow-up your previous response to my offer of settlement. In my industry we would call your post non-responsive. On this blog we call your post just another myopic Bruin rant that is humorless, poorly written and lacking content. I would request that on behalf of Scott's Blog that you please take some writing lessons or at least learn how to properly formulate a creative argument from RealBruin before you even consider writing another post on this blog. Also, it probably doesn’t help the cause of UCLA fans as a whole when you make unintelligible comments about “special needs kids. Stay classy Hermosa-adjacent Bruin. We look forward to seeing you next November.
Very truly yours,
ReallTrojan aka ReelTrojan
PS - Neither Michigan nor UCLA wear "blue and gold". The Wolverines wear Maize and Blue, and the Bruins wear soft pastel colors.
FYI - Reggie Bush 329 total yards and 6 TD’s in last two New Orleans Saints victories.

I'm content with 10-2 in a rebuilding year. 17 players from last year's team are in the NFL, and nine players who started at least one game, or were projected to start, out with injuries. All told, that's a pretty good rebuilding year. It could have been worse. Say, 7-5 with only one quality win....

Hey ReelToejam
That butt-kicking still hurts, doesn't it. Honestly, I was bitter too when our streak came to an end at the Mausoleum in '99. I didn't think my wife and I would make it out safely during the ensuing Toejam pandemonium.
Regarding parking, I have a place in Linda Vista that overlooks Brookside. Unfortunately, I make it a rule not to allow Trojans on my property...unless you're coming up to do the gardening work!
Nice smack, btw
