Spanos To Play?

Offensive tackle Matt Spanos might play in the Rose Bowl if he passes his finals, which end tomorrow. Spanos was academically ineligible this season but could gain his eligibility once the fall semester ends.
``I'm kind of (dying) to know how I did,'' Spanos said.
Spanos is playing both tackle positions.

Just me - but seems like wasting one season for one game isn't worth it. RB or not.

Reel...It's worth it if you figure that you'll probably never qualify again academically and this is your only realistic shot. Kinda like your "baby blues"...struttin on top of the world from one little 4 point win..knowing that it's probably not going to happen again in the near future...

It'll happen again next year my friend. Actually I hope that from now on that game is meaningful to both teams in terms of bowls. It is funny you guys are so obviously butt hurt about the game that you would take a post that had no "We Beat You" content and turn it into a flame. Symptom of your pain. SCOREBOARD Sucster.

P.S. We beat you without people who can't qualify academically.

Reelbruin, for what it's worth he's already used his redshirt year. If he's eligible and he can contribute then let him play.

if spanos plays, is he eligible in 07

Actually, Reel, I think it's a symptom of us wondering if you don't have USC envy. I'm a fan of college football, but I've never looked up a UCLA page, much less looked in on one every day.

Dear Reel Bruin, Hermosa Bruin, and Brewz,

Please allow this letter to follow-up the Trojans’ recent and unfortunate birth in yet another Rose Bowl Game due to a loss to your pesky little Cubs last weekend. I will be seeking compensatory and punitive damages from all three of you as well as Coach Dorrell and Coach Walker to compensate for the annoyance you have caused me, my family and fellow Trojans Fans on Scott’s Blog. I will also be seeking reimbursement for any future penalties that I may incur for cancelling my first class plane tickets and Five Star Hotel reservation in Scottsdale, which I had booked in anticipation of a 4th straight National Championship Game (Like my team, I too had overlooked the Bruins).

However, I am reasonable person and I am amenable to a settlement to resolve this matter. Therefore, I propose either of the following solutions:

(1) As I would prefer not to go through that miserable experience of parking at Parsons again, and since you are going to the Emerald Bowl, if one of you would give me your parking pass to the Rose Bowl...you know since you won't be needing it for the Rose Bowl. (It just occurred to me that since UCLA only plays in the Rose Bowl during the regular season and not during the College Bowl season, you probably do not get a pass to the actual Rose Bowl Game...please correct me if I am wrong).

(2) If you do not have a parking passes, I am pretty sure that according to the employment statistics for UCLA Graduates ,between the three of you alleged Bruin Graduates, at least one of the three of you drives a taxi or limo (okay limo might be shooting a little too high). Therefore, I would be willing to resolve this matter in exchange for your services providing transportation to and from the Rose Bowl on January 1st. (You would be doing me a huge service, but more importantly you would be allowing my back-up driver, Miguelito, to spend New Year’s Day with his family.)

It goes with out saying that these offers are also contingent on the three of you no longer writing ridiculous, myopic and provoking posts on this Blog about how Dorrell is a genius and is on the verge of creating a dynasty at UCLA, the likes of which College Football and its fans have never seen before, simply because Dorrell beat USC...one time (and only time)...during a USC rebuilding year...after SC lost 11 players (which include 2 Hesiman winners) to the NFL... in a UCLA home game...after USC had played and beat Oregon, Cal, and Notre Dame (all ranked at the time) in a row...and when USC made the mistake of overlooking a mediocre UCLA team (with a scrappy D) because they were too focused on packing for the National Championship Game.
Please let me know at your earliest convenience if you are amenable to my proposed settlement offer. You can contact me or one of my associates, FDOG or JJH4USC, at any one of the posts on www.insidesocal.com/usc/.

Very truly yours,

ReelTrojan

ReelTrojan- I can see you spent a lot of time on that. Very creative. Did you get course credit for that?

FWIW, I do not think Dorrell is a genius, far from. And FWIW, represent well in the RB please, since we beat you, it makes us look good. Looking forward to a MEANINGFUL game between UCLA and USC next year...although then again, it was pretty meaningful to ge knocked out of the title, huh. So I guess, meaningul to the Pac-10 title. There, that's better. I know it hurts, and frankly I'm bored now.

Feel better Trojan!

See you next year.

P.S. No doubt you've pumped by gas, and you would be welcome to my Lot K pass (parking in front of the Rose).

ReelBruin,

The fact that you are never at a loss for words confirms my suspicion that you are truly a UCLA graduate, and not just your run of the mill G.E.D. Trojan-hater (ala Miguelito, Brewz). Your Lot K pass will be very appreciated. And while I would like to take credit for my previous post, my UCLA graduate secretary prepares the first drafts for all of my correspondence, which I later revise (I sometimes wonder where would I be without a Bruin working for me).

Additionally, I would also request that UCLA represent well in the Emerald Bowl, because a UCLA loss to a very bad Florida State team would make USC’s loss to UCLA even that much more painful.

I look forward to continuing this discussion November 24, 2007 at the Coliseum...we will be waitning.

Yours truly,

ReelTrojan

..pumped BY gas

The condescending comments don't play out as well when you haven't mastered using your keyboard.

See you next year indeed.

ReelTrojan - and so will we.
