That Answers That
USC coach Pete Carroll said he would not fire any assistant coaches after the season, regardless of what happens in today’s Rose Bowl.
The No. 8-ranked Trojans are 10-2, which is successful by most standards, but there’s been a lot of fan criticism, especially directed toward offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin.
``I’m not making any changes,’’ Carroll said. ``I’m not doing anything.’’

OK, Kiffin haters, now chill, y'all....
Frankly you should all have been more angry at Ruel after the FUCLA game...
But, PC says he's standing pat, OK, let's all revisit this next year when we're in the Sugar Bowl/BCS Title game....
I can't believe that:
(a) this is the awaited announcement;
(b) that PC would actually decide to do that and;
(c) we're discussing what's successful by "most standards." By most standards, you should win games that you are heavily favored to win (Oregon State, UCLA).
Good Grief.

I thought the announcement would be either PC was leaving SC to return to the NFL after the Rose Bowl or Jimmy Clausen was decommitting from ND in favor of the Trojans. Well, we all know what happens with "stay the course". It's the beginning of the decline. Good luck with that.
And Woffie, in the future I'll remember to take your "special announcements" at face value: LAME (as in Kiffin).
That is just a great attitude Pete. Guess you are beyond making mistakes. So because all of us "Joe Blows" see that Kiffin is in way over his head, you are going to keep him for spite. Truly pathetic.
After today, you will have lost 4 games in 12 months, lost 2 BCS bowl games, lost 3 games that were must wins (UT, UCLA, UM), 3 games in a row at the Rose Bowl, and will finish out of the Top 10. Not exactly a sign of a program on the rise. Not even a program holding steady. After today you are a program on the decline. Nice to know that us fans can count on you to do whatever it takes to win.
What do you people expect PC to say? If we lose someone is getting fired? That would really motivate the coaches, eh? He said what he had to say to the media... I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see some changes for next season.
great...the old head in the sand routine "nothing wrong here" no one getting fired, moved, chage of responsibilities...hey we blew the NC and lost to 2 unranked teams but who cares, right?
I got news for Petey, a few more 10-3 or 8-4 seasons and Mike Garrett will FORCE you to change some thing so might as well do it now....
Geez 66, aside from your slightly jumping the gun..I actually agree with your above post..

Anyone still agree with USC1966 and the other idiots calling for Kiffin's head? 11-2 with a Pac-10 Championship and a Rose Bowl win in a rebuilding year is not a bad year...
So now is Kiffin a genius, or will the Kiffin-haters call this just our good luck???
I'll bet your cousins across town, who said Dorrell was a genius after December 2, are now saying he is back to Coach Dullard....
It was a well-coached game. Admit it!
On to pre-season #1 for '07!
