The Top 25

I wonder when the last time was that the Big 12 didn't even have a top ten team. Probably would have stuck OU in the top ten but generally I agree with most of the rankings.

The top 20 should look more like this, with SOS and record vs. BCS Top 25 in parentheses):

Texas in front of OU after winning the Big 12 Championship convincingly. Scott you are obviously an idiot, and just like the other idiot who just had his voting privaliges taken away for voting OU down the list after "hearing" that Texas Tech had beat OU even though they hadn't. YOU SIR, are an incompetent BOOB>.......

Not so sure I'd put 'SC that high. They cam close to losing games against some lesser teams, and then with a trip to the title game on the line, they came out flat. Number 8, at the very highest. Maybe more like 10.

All you have to do is beat the #2 team, lose 5 games, and you are guaranteed a bowl game and to be in the top 25. UCLA --- the 25th best team in the country? Give me a break!

FYI-- UCLA was 2-2 against the BCS Top 25 (wins over USC, Oregon State; losses to Cal and Notre Dame), the same as LSU. The average computer ranking had UCLA 20th.

I didn't extend my rankings past 20. If I had, I probably wouldn't have had UCLA in the top 25, but I'm guessing they would have been in the top 30, which basically puts them in the top quartile of Division 1-A. The way that defense played down the stretch, I don't think that's outrageous.

To LarryR: If you have USC 8th or 10th, who would you have ahead of them? Wisconsin, which didn't beat a single Top 25 team? Boise State, which beat one? Notre Dame, which USC walloped? The only teams that can legitimately be ranked ahead of USC are OSU, Michigan, Florida and Louisville-- maybe Oklahoma if you consider the Oregon game as a win. That puts them #6 at the lowest. There is simply no reason LSU should be ranked ahead of USC. USC had the same record as LSU against a tougher schedule, and beat twice as many Top 25 teams with the same number of losses.

That was Gary, not me. 5 or 6 is where USC belongs. They are "still the one". On a good day (ie: ND type day), they could beat any of the top 4. On any other given day, the top 4 could beat USC. It depends on who shows up, which worries me about Michigan. Who is going to wear the cardinal and gold on that day? This is also a good reason not to have a play off system. Let the season, not a single game or 2 or 3, determine the best in the country.
