The Other Football, Part IV
According to BBC Sport, Iain Dowie has refused to comment on reports that he is set to take over at Hull City. ``I've got absolutely no comment to make," said Dowie.
Looks like USC women's soccer has some competition for the well-respected gaffer.

Thanks Wolf. My I also add the following English football notes?
Chelsea is about to implode. Read the following "Jose" Mourinho quotes, addressing the disaster that is Andriy Shevchenko:
"Sheva is not untouchable because of the way he is playing. I play the best players at the time. Makelele is untouchable because of the way he plays, Essien is untouchable because of the way he plays. Frank Lampard is untouchable because of the way he plays. It is not because I love them. It is because of the way they play. Michael Ballack is untouchable because of the way he plays. John Terry is untouchable, Ricardo Carvalho, Ashley Cole, Drogba, they are untouchable. The right-back is not untouchable. That is why I try this and that. But, at this moment, we have nine untouchable players. I always say players pick the team, not me."
And this from THE SUN, regarding Arsenal's disgraceful play in front of a paying audience as they cowardly walked to a 0-0 draw to ensure entry into the last 16 of Champions League:
"You know something is wrong when Chelsea can take the moral high ground.
But Arsene Wenger surrendered his right to look down on Jose Mourinho as his team were at the heart of a cynical European carve-up last night.
For while Chelsea made a point of playing fair on their way to the knockout stages of the Champions League, Arsenal sneaked into the last 16 through a blatant pact of non-aggression.
A goal-less draw in Porto was enough to guarantee both teams qualified from Group G.
And Wenger was happy to sacrifice his attacking principles for a guaranteed share of the Euro millions on offer in the later stages of the competition.
It was a plot to rival the recent poisoning of Russian dissident Alexander Litvinenko — and this one also had a Russian victim as CSKA Moscow were left out in the cold."
NOTE: These two clubs will battle head-to-head on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is rolling right along.
Saturday prediction:
United 2
City 0

FYI Mike Garrett: David O'Leary is also available and a lock to land the Women of Troy toward the top of the Pac-10 table -- in his first year at least. After that, there's no guarantee he won't become the "O'Larry Smith" of NCAA soccer.

Congrats to Man U 3-1 in the derby vs. City. 8 points clear after the Arsenal / Chelsea draw. Arsenal was lucky to get a point but will take it anyways. The Robben and Wright-Phillips substitutions flayed the Arsenal back line.
