Carroll Update
Pete Carroll just met the media. A quick recap.
``I did hear (the Miami Dolphins) out and thought it was in my interest to at least listen,'' he said. ``It had all the elements I've always talked about (for an NFL job). The head coach will have the entire say in terms of hiring and personnel. He did not talk about offering the job at all.
``I thought it was worth listening to.''
Carroll did not say if owner Wayne Huizenga would call back but said he would take the phone call. Their initial meeting lasted four hours.
Carroll said, ``I absolutely expect to stay here.'' But he did not say he would turn down the job if offered. He said his actions would speak volumes about what he thinks.

Scott - How could you let that idiot T.J. Simers scoop you on this? All you had to do is what he did - ask for clarification. Carroll is staying.
the Miami Herald story today does a good job of explaining the Dolphins job hunt. www.miami.com. There are 10 candidates, which will be whittled to 5 this weekend, then 2 finalists. Interestingly, the Dolphins would not confirm speaking with Carroll. If you like reading tea leaves that either means he's the secret preferred candidate and the others are smoke screen or he's an obligatory college candidate. The other candidates, interestingly, are all NFL assistants.

This is going to go on for like 3 months....
PC said he isn't even "expecting to hear back from WH" He said he happy where he is, like he always has said. The Dolphins front office don't want him, except WH. The last thing they want is another college coach. Dolphin fans don't want him (I have been on their boards)
I hope we can drop this subject soon and talk about things like the 2007 season...
