Surprise Of The Day

| | Comments (14) |

I can readily attest to the powerful personal skills of Pete Carroll and his interviewing prowess was one reason he went from long shot to USC football coach. But two NFL sources claim last week's Costa Rican confab with the Miami Dolphins did not go well despite the four-plus hours spent in Central America, and was a reason things ended abruptly last week.

I believe it. Thanks for the info Scott.

Here's some more info: Everyone here in Michigan still has their mouth open in disbelief at how easily UM was beaten by USC..hahaha

Big f'ing surprise. He just found out minutes before the interview that his starting kicker died. Amazing that something like that would effect his ability to interview well.

But then again..didn't PC come into the airport saying "That's a great opportunity with everything I want, like full control of the team" and "Yeah I would take his call if he called back!" and had to call Tessalone to assure him he wasn't leaving?

That doesn't sound like it went badly....

What do the NCAA sources say? Because like the Nick Saban saga, impressions of who turned down who seem to split along pro-pro football/pro-college football lines.

Your premise, that "two NFL sources claim last week's Costa Rican confab with the Miami Dolphins did not go well", is dependent on Wayne H. talking smack about PC, but W.H. wouldn't have the reputation or the success in business if he routinely talked out of school like a little girl. I sense a degree of jealously in the NFL ranks. They can't get back to LA, and the best coach in football wants nothing to do with the NFL at this point. So let's put this "rumor" in its proper perspective. Didn't come from the Dolphins.

Look, Scott, if you can name names then please fight the urge to report it. It's just more b.s. like the so-called Danelo "apparent suicide." Puh-lease, give us all a break.

Sorry, typo in my last post. I meant to say "If you can't name names, then don't report it."

Wolf, I gotta say, your credibility was under strain even before the WV madness. With the crap about "apparent suicide," and now this, I don't know what sources you're talking to, but maybe you should stop. In a hurry. Or don't, because I'm just not going to frequent this page.

Oh yeah, and screw TypeKey.

#1. This typekey sucks. It takes like 10 minutes to post something. I got a ball and jacks to play while I wait for it to post.

#2. Who are these "sources"? A friend of a friend of a friend who knows a guy who read something online? Some NFL guys who don't like the Dolphins and want them to crash and burn? Nothing worse than the infamous "I have my sources".

If things went so crappy why did he call his agent down there? To play Jarts?
