The Good And The Bad
The fact Reggie Bush's claimed he was being extorted does pose a certain risk for the tailback. If Bush was not completely honest with the FBI, it would be a crime. Among recent figures who faced criminal charges in similar circumstances were Martha Stewart and Scooter Libby.

Since it would seem that USC is trying to distance itself from Reggie Bush (and who could blame them)that they should remove selling Reggie Bush items from the USC Trojans web site?
Haha darmet has a good point...
G. Gordon Liddy was called scooter?
Anyway, Yahoo! is bringing this up again because of recruiting. They drag this story out of the closet whenever there is a chance to take a potshot at USC. I dont' know what problem they have with USC football but they sure seem to hate us...I heard Reggie talking about these tapes before he said there "is nothing on them". Nothing new here, just another bash of USC...and probably another article on Yahoo! by Terry Bowden telling us how great Notre Dame is...
Don't forget the singer Lil' Kim, also did a year for perjury. :o)
Scooter is a reference to I. Lewis Libby,Jr. USC1966 but I'm sure you really knew that. Good joke though

You are correct. Giving false information is a crime, trying to obstruct justice is a crime, etc.
And tape(s) will be admissable as law enforcement was not involved in illegal taping.
The Bush family has been getting horrible legal advice. There was only one scenario to go in this instance although convincing Reggie might have been difficult. With Lamar it might have been impossible. If you want to know how it should have been handled contact me directly.
Scott your point is very very important. As I said in an earlier posting, once you get the feds involved you NEVER know which direction it can go. Bill CLinton will tell you that. And the feds HATE to be lied too or midled. Barry Bonds and the others you mentioned will tell you that. I am sure Reggie has already spoken to investigators. He better hope that he didnt lie to them or mislead them. A far as the tapes -- I think it would be wise for some rich SC booster to somehow pay someone a million or two, get the tapes, and destroy them. If there are no tapes, it really reduces the chances that SC can get in trouble. I dont think the NCAA can get its hands on the alleged credit card receipts showing that Reggie used the credit card of an agent or potential agent.
