Why is Notre Lame ranked?

Wonder who was more embarassed by their BCS Bowl loss - Michigan or Ohio St.? They both needed bowl cleaner when they were done.

Ohio State and the Big Ten proved they could not hang with any speed from the SEC or even the Pac10, I would have put OSU at #5, and bump up LSU and USC to 3 and 4.

Notre Dame wouldn't crack the top 20.

Fight on!

LarryR,

This is Scott's personal AP ballot. He's one of the voters...

I'll say it again so that my position is made clear. Just because Boise is undefeated doesn't mean they're automatically #2. They don't play a tough enough schedule to warrant it.

I don't care if they're good for one overtime defeat of a top 10 team per season that doesn't make you the second best team in the country.

One more thing on the BCS. For what purpose, other than money, does the BCS championship game exist? For the past 4 years (games), in 3 out of the 4 games, the number 2 team has won the game. Does that mean that team is the best in the land for that season, or for just that one game? I would hope the best team, or number 1 should be for the best team for the season, not just a single game. However, I must go with the flow. They will not ever eliminate a championship game, just because of the money aspect of it!

Tyler: I agree, Boise State should not be number 2. However, they were voted #2 in one poll, the CCR poll. All the major polls had them as 5, 6, & 8. Go figure! The good news, is USC is #4 USA and AP, regardless of where Scott voted. He's just one vote, of many.

Wow I was wrong about last night’s game. Ohio State got taken behind the woodshed, and after USC's 2nd half mugging of Michigan, the Big Ten must have a real bad BCS hangover right now.

Boise State is 13-0...nobody else is, they beat a team that many so called experts say (minus the Oregon debacle) would have been in the National Championship Game discussion. This is the system we have right now, so Bosie State “deserves a No. 2 or 3 ranking under this system, but like Tyler said, they are not a Top 5 Team. And the way USC played in the Rose Bowl they should be the No. 2 or No. 3 Team.

And is it killing anyone else that had USC beaten UCLA, USC and not Florida would have played in the National Championship Game. And is there anyone out there that watched the Rose Bowl and last night’s game that does not think USC has superior athletes to Ohio State (ala Florida) and could not have smacked Ohio State around, and won another National Championship under Carroll...in a rebuilding year?

2007 is Gator time, congratulations to them.
Hint: Is 2008 the year of the white horse? The experts are already saying that USC defense is going to be scary!
