McKnight Update
Pete Carroll is emphatic that nothing illegal took place in the recruitment of Joe McKnight, including any conversations with Reggie Bush.
``It didn't happen,'' Carroll said. ``So we won't get penalized. You can look at the phone records. I'm not worried about it one bit. That conversation with Bush never existed. Reggie and everyone else will tell you it didn't happen.''
Carroll said he is eager to obtain an audiotape of McKnight's press conference to see if his words were misinterpreted and said he thinks the recruit's words might have been twisted.
``(Bush and McKnight) never talked and never had a conference call or speakerphone conversation,'' Carroll said.
Carroll believes LSU fans created the controversy because McKnight chose the Trojans over his home-state school.
``They went crazy about it,'' he said.

What a surprise. Who isn't trying to find something wrong with the USC football program? Everyone these days are trying to bring down the program with a violation of some sort.

But, Carroll did say on Collin Cowherd that Bush and McKnight had spoken about the issue, and McKnight received assurances that everything was okay. McKnight's coach was even quoted as saying that Joe told him that he spoke with Bush & Carroll about the situation. Maybe this is a case of McKnight being misintepreted on multiple occasions.

ReelBruin couldn't care less yet he still sifts through a USC website every day and posts nearly as often. Thank you for being such a big supporter of USC football. (Personally, I wouldn't come within a mouse click of a bruin site for the fear of being associated with mediocrity)
