More Quarterbacks
With quarterbacks a hot topic, it's interesting to note USC is recruiting Dayne Crist of Notre Dame High.
With 10 tailbacks on scholarship, including Joe McKnight, maybe it's possible Crist would not be turned off by the quarterback glut if Mitch Mustain transfers to USC.
What does having 10 tailbacks have anything to do with a quarterback. That last sentence is not english there is no relevance. I am not trying to sound condemning. But can somebody explain what the RB status has to do with the QB. Besides the obvious of having a talented TB in the backfield. Scott clarify?
The RB situation is relevant because SC has been able to attract (and so far keep) all these talented backs without assuring any of them that they will be the featured back. If another highly rated QB comes, that will mean at least 5 highly regarded QBs will be in the fold. This situation is very rare in the modern era of reduced scholarships and is reminiscent of the days when the traditonal powerhouses would stockpile talent knowing that half those kids would never see the field.
You guys are brutal. I know Scott has said somethings that irk you guys sometimes but it seems its gotten to the point where Scott can't say a single thing w/o many of you jumping all over him and being negative. Folks, it's a blog! It's kinda sad that you guys react like this. If you don't like what Wolf reports...well then stop visiting the page. I myself enjoy the reporting. Is a lot of it rumors? Yes but I enjoy hearing about possibilities out there. Does some of the content annoy me? Yes, but there's a ton more good and interesting stuff I read on here than bad. Scott's not the end-all...it's just a blog.
No one, to my knowledge, ever stockpiled 5 quality quarterbacks at one time.

I have been watching Joe McKnight on youtube.com and wow...he looks exactly like Reggie Bush. Incredible talent...he can break any play for a 60 yd TD. Speed, moves, the whole package. We are lucky to have this guy.
I didn't think we would see anyone else like Reggie bush for another 20 years. He has incredible speed, moves, field vision, and football awareness. And toughness, he takes runs straight up the middle for the Saints. But I think Joe McKnight could be as good.
Sark/Carroll have already said they are going to open up the playbook with McKnight like they did with Reggie.
I think B. Green can be as good as Lendale. He likes the comparison excepts he says "I want to be better than Lendale"
Now, put that together with S. havili, an awesome FB, A. bradford as a third down/H back, and C. Washington/CJ Gable taking some carries also, and I am sure Stafon Johnson will get some carries too, and what an awesome running attack.
Then, throw in #1 WR Patrick Turner, #1 WR Vidal Hazelton, Fred Davis and Heisman trophy candidate JDB, we should have a great offense again.
Now , put that together with the incredible defense that totally snuffed out the losers from Michigan in the Rose bowl, which just got better with additions like E. Griffin and Malcolm Smith, and I don't see why we can't win the NC the next 2-3 years in a row.

I just hope PC remembers to stockpile some 5 Star O Lineman, or else all these Tailbacks will continue to get stuffed against the likes of ucla & Michigan.
SEC52...PC has already gotten commits from two OTs kalil and Meyer both @6-8 and 285, couple those two with newbys O'Dowd Reardon and Coleman, and add in veterans Chas Brown, Heberer, Butch Lewis, Nick Howell,Possibly ThosHerring and hopefully Beyers, our future O line aint gonna be too shabby as things stack up early on.

I think that Brown and Lewis are going to be getting alot of playing time this season, but my main hopes are that Beyers can get back healthy and Matt Spanos can get academically elgibile which would give us some seriously needed depth.

Now he brought up the Rosario kid from San Diego area. The early numbers on this kid sound really great. LBC..Ya know what is so incredible is that Sanchez and ANYONE ELSE who is a QB at USC will compete in 2008 and the best player will get the starting nod. It just wont be the Orange County Mexican, The Arkansas Redneck or the Lutheran Carrot Top or the Catholic Hurdler from the Valley....It will just be the best suited candidate based on competition. Sanchez is a great QB prospect, just lacking true underfire NCAA game experience ..just as JDB endured at the onset of last season. Just as Aaron Corp or Garrett Green will also endure. They will all get to compete though and the best suited for the job will get it. It's all good. It will even be better as time gets closer. The only thing that we need to take out of the equation so that it continues to be just quality Trojan football competition and preparation is that self agrandizing racebating psycopathic enabler who's sole reason to be here is to further his agenda of flaming anyone who is not of Latin decent.
